After all this years ive finally decided to actually make a topic, which is what is your favourite type of roleplay in Fallout new vegas? mine so happens to be bounty hunter (there is this awesome bounty hunter quest series on Nexus which i recommend to anyone), the game has like the perfect atmosphere for that, do let me know whats your type to play as, might wanna have some varitey

Bounty Hunter/Cowboy build.

I feel like Bounty Hunter will come up a ton. There's just something about the setting and theme of New Vegas that's real frontier, western-esque. Plus there's something fun about playing as a suave gunman, making my name across in the new world.

damn glad to see im not the only one who feels that way lol, its just something about living that lifestyle you know, its epic. plus i always loved using revolvers. my favourite has to be "Lucky", the one you find in Primm, in that safe

Honestly I gotta agree with the cowboy/vigilante style role. It fits in New Vegas extremely well, and having grown up in Texas, it's a fairly familiar lifestyle that's pretty fun to replicate in the Mojave. The thing is, it's kind of an extension of the character I play in most RPGs, a fairly good spirited but toughened character.

Well, I have 2 types of RP

1 Is being some kind of "saint of the mojave", I try as max as possible to be like Randall Clark, I want to help people, protect the weak and destroy those who opresses them. I use the Survivalist's rifle, .45 pistol (I usually use the unique version) and the desert ranger set.

2 Is being a cowboy/bounty hunter, something like that. My gear for it is the NCR veteran ranger armor set and a colt 1847 walker mod, I edited the gun to use 45-70 and use the same fire sound of the hunting revolver, I want to be a little similiar to this guy https://youtu.be/HPs5nQ5d584?t=799
This is the type of RP I'm using in my current playthrough. (For the best results, I'm using the W.A.R mod so my character can aim the gun like a real gunslinger)

3 - Lost naive kid who evolves into a Wasteland Saint to avenge their father.

NV - Mysterious gunslinger or gambling rogue. Take your pick.

4 - Soldier who sacrifices his son's work to save humanity from synths with the BoS, Lawyer who learns to justify the means to an end for the Institute.

These are in my opinion, the most fun and most canon way to play these three games.

The Lone Wanderer hasn't experienced constant horror before, so logically, they would be more inclined to complete their parents life work and make the ultimate sacrifice. They haven't got much else to live for by the end of Fallout 3.

The Courier is deliberately set up as a mysterious stranger or mercenary. This makes it satisfying to betray everyone and take Vegas for yourself. A rogue Courier can also become a Benny-type character and this makes a lot of sense. The Courier follows in Benny's footsteps long enough for them to become him. NV is written like a spaghetti western in majority of it's questlines.

The Sole Survivor's backstory is already pre-written,  but it makes sense for Nate to join the BoS. You could headcanon that he got his Power Armor training from his time in the military and that he's already seen one war and one apocalypse, he doesn't want to see any more.

Nora's character can go for anything, but I like to think the most "canon" route for her is the Institute.  Lawyers defend bad people for a living and this is literally her son. Plus, you're not Father 2. You're Mother. A really cool title.

FNV - Playing as making the world a good place regarding of circumstances/factions/gangs. Murdering those that need to be murdered and saving as many lives as can be. - My playthrough at the moment. Kind of my favorite cause then I can have romances/friends with companions.

Other playthrough, murder whatever gives me the most benefit, steal/gives the most caps, and to be as selfish as possible. - I have yet to do this playthrough cause I am deciding what mods I want with it and how to set up the character. Regardless, it has to be as lone wolf/destructive as possible for one man.

Gotta think of more ideas of another playthrough after these two.

Let's see...

Fallout 3: The kid trying to fill his daddy's boots, going into adventures and taking real risks for the first time in his life. By mid game I role like he is now 21-22 Y.O, kinda grown up but still kinda immature. By end game he is now an experienced man that has done great things, hoping to have made his father proud, wherever he is.

Fallout New Vegas: An experienced courier that has been in many places 'til you know... Then he becomes a Bounty Hunter-Mercenary working with the NCR, not "for" them. His reputation by mid-way is almost legendary (the courier who defied death itself) . But still on a quest to find his personal happiness and a real conclusion for everything that has happened. In this game I try the character to be like how I am (feelings, psyche, thoughts, etc). 

Fallout 4: Veteran from the War. I usually role that he ended up being an officer, something like Captain and just got with the mood of the game, there isn't much space to role since the character is pretty much already "made". In general I go with the BoS and Minutemen since those are the Factions he feels most associated with (NCR with mods, trying to shape the MM to be the NCR). He is a tough man that has suffered a lot, but still tries to find his way.
