Hey people I got a question i think i got a lots of useless mods that some times gaves me Crash to Desktop is there any way to remove all of the mods without deleting and re-installing game ? Verifying the Game Cache after deleting all of the mod .esp/meshes,textures etc. folders will work ? Thank you for your answers.

Hello Husky, from my own personal experience with steam in other games a verify will only look and modify game files that are associated with the stock game. It will not effect files that are not included in a "stock" install. You should be able to do as you stated and delete all of the mod files, then do a verify. It is good practice to keep Verifying the game files until steam states that there are no more files that needed to be replaced. It also takes awhile to run through the verifies and it may just be as easy to do a clean install, that way you know you got everything.

unless there is some compelling reason you need to play using Steam - and none come to mind - you really should be using Fallout Mod Manager (FOMM) to launch the game using the Fallout Script Extender (FOSE). FOMM makes it easy to remove/deactivate mods in order to diagnose which mods are causing CTD madness so you can ultimately achieve stability.

At this point, however, I'd recommend you suck it up and do a re-install, but with a plan. This is just my method, but I keep a backup copy of the pristine, unadulterated game (literally copy the entire game folder to your backup storage, for example "X:\SteamLibrary\SteamApps\common\Fallout 3 goty") so if there's ever an issue you never have to re-download again. Then be sure to install FOSE and FOMM right off the bat so you can keep a better handle on your mods.
