| Hey VGU I came across this guide on the STEP forums seems like an excellent list of mods, wiki.step-project.com/User:Essarrbee/FalloutNewVegas, very few things I would change, what do you guys think?Anyone here try the full install? |

| Hey Tiger, how do you find it in general? Is it pretty stable?Only really a few things I would add/change but it definitely seems like an excellent foundation guide! |

| As a foundation, yes it's very solid. A lot of it have been cover by Gopher as well for the really MUST have stuff (nevada skies/project nevada/darnUI/oneHUD, etc.)
the best part about it is the merging guide for some mods as well as extra tidbits about mods that need to be clean and installation orders and such.
it doesn't cover some of the bigger mods though like FOOK or FOOK-PN convergence or NVEC. I run NVEC now since its just so much simpler to build as a base.
thats all i can say about that. i've use that STEP guide a long time ago for a bit but i've learned so much from it that most of it doesn't cover as much as it should.
oh and i always do manual merge patch because i'm anal.
an alternative to it would be to look at Reddit's recommended mods (even though that doesn't cover as much technical details). |

| Hey Tiger thanks for the reply and reccommendation of NVEC using that would really simplify the load order! I recently got a loan of a gaming PC from a friend who is leaving the country for a while here are the main specs - Spoiler:
i7 2700k @stock clocks ASus P67 LE 16GB 1866mhz ram GTX570 1280MB @ stock Driver 344.11 1tb hdd
I spent 8 hours of my Saturday downloading, installing and fixing/merging the Fear and Loathing New Vegas mod guide exactly as described but unfortunately I was getting the No Main Menu bug so now Im starting over using NVEC and a few other items missed, hopefully this time I can get it working |

| Essarrbee's STEP guide is pretty much the groundwork for my mod list. It's extremely stable and the guide is easy to follow. I would still be making merged patches and not bashed patches if it wasn't for this guide explaining the benefits and processes of making one.
Like tigerx97, I don't use all of the mods in the guide, but a good proportion of them. _________________ - MY MODS & MODS I'VE CONTRIBUTED TO:

| Wow, didn't knew something like this existed for NV. Thanks, will be usefull when I have to reinstall NV again because of too many mod conflicts But one thing is still a bit unclear to me. This guides suggest to clean the New Vegas DLC .esm's. But I read elsewhere that it is not advised to do so. Do you guys have any bad experience with cleaning the official .esm's? |

| I cleaned all of the NV DLCs, not issues here. Always keep a back up of the originals just in case. _________________ - MY MODS & MODS I'VE CONTRIBUTED TO:
