Honestly, i didn't finish the game yet since i played it on my Xbox, i just want to know that what is the best decision ever? Joining the NCR and do what Mr. House told you, i can't find any clear answers about this on Google, it's fine to spoil but today I was still on the Powder Ganger walk through ive been thinking about betraying them or not, and what would possibly be if i joined the NCR and Betrays those murderers, i know that Bethesda program something about this in game, I watched some Walkthrough of Oxhorn on Youtube but still we have different opinions about this, well my permanently faction that i wanna join to is the Kings! But probably they are not the main factions on FNV just NCR and Legion i guess.. Any suggestion on how to be a Good Nature on this game? I would really appreciate every detail of reply you'll be posting on my thread. Thank you!

It's been argued many, many times here, with no clear consensus.
I like the NCR best. They're the ones who will be most likely to create a comfortable world closest to our own real life, warts and all. But I like sitting in a heated, lit, non-crumbling ruin where my neighbors aren't scary casino guys (I wouldn't want any of those casino families as neighbors in real life either..)
I'm a rarity in that I don't automatically trust Hosue. He might be fantasing about nonsense, or not be as honest as he says he is. He talks a good talk, no doubt. If his plan is genuine, it's interesting. But in real life, I would NEVER trust someone completely blindly when they were laying out some grand plan with themselves at the top.
My courier would however slap me and say "BOW, WORM!" and "remind me" that the independent ending is the best, or else.
I can't see any argument for the legion. They'll capture Vegas, and utterly ruin its economy and value. Without its casinos and lights, it's just another crumbling ruin, no better than any other.

Technically, you can win any faction with a positive karma and the ending slides even acknowledge strange things like a legion courier with high karma.

If you ask me, I would definitely join the Legion even though they get about your sins or everyone sins, it doesn't matter if it's an evil faction but still i would love to know the best decision first, i know that there are no perfect factions to join to, but still there are some good way to be recognize as a Good Nature/ Good Karma for them i guess, i agree on your opinion though, still do i have to kill another faction lang Brotherhood of Forge, Kings, Boomers, Khans and Etc.. Well, the best decision would be to go with Yes-Man. That practically gives you control over an independent Vegas, wich means you can rule it however you want.

Let me put it like this:

- The legion: ISIS larping as romans.

Honestly I can't see why anyone would want to join the legion. It's a brutal society where you'd die around 30. Not to mention joining the legion means voluntarily becoming a slave. When I first saw them, I thought you might become Caesar or at least Caesar's second in command, but really it's a choice between being Caesar's or Lanius' slave. Just a really nonsensical choice.

- NCR:

Largely modeled after an idealized version of the US government, NCR upholds many traditional democratic and liberal values, while also suffering heavily from the same problems: excessive bureaucracy, crashing taxes, corruption... In NV you find an NCR that is grossly overextended, paying a high price in lives and money due to their fanatical imperialist leaders.

The NCR is not a bad choice per se in my opinion. As a faction, they have good intentions, and a philosophy based on liberty and human rights. They are an ungrateful faction though, and an unimaginative one.

Ultimately, both these factions have the same problem. They don't offer a future, for you, for NV, or for humanity. They're merely picking up the pieces from the past.


- House:

House is eccentric, but he offers two things no one else does:

First, he actually rewards you properly, not just gives you a medal and heartfelt thanks.

Second, he offers a future. He's an economic and scientific visionary actually capable of building a better future for humanity, instead of simply trying to make a nuclear wasteland a slightly nicer place. And if talk to him, you realize just how grand his plans are.

- Yes man:

I find this choice makes no sense. Normally this is what I would choose. But there's nothing to gain from taking over Vegas that you couldn't gain by working with House. And by contrast, House offers a ton of benefits (life extension technology for example) that you wouldn't get by taking over Vegas.


In short: Go for House. The rewards are huge, he offers a future for everybody involved (you, him, NV, and humanity), and he actually appreciates what you do for him.

The thing is, with the legion, Caesar is constantly doing the "irritate me again and I'll have you torn apart." You're now and forever a yes-man, on your knees. No matter how "grateful" he is, as soon as you twitch the wrong way, you're dead (or his legion is dead, considering how powerful the courier is by the end). He makes that pretty clear repeatedly in the conversation with him. In Rome, great generals could go from heroes to enemies of the state without even falling from grace first, but simply because the rulers were worried about their power.
I really don't get how anyone wants to live in the legion.

With House its so ingrained for me to wonder if a would-be charismatic political speech is just pie in the sky or false promises to get power, that it's hard to put that away, even in a game. But yeah, the writers intended him to be the "best answer" and not a lying politician grasping for egotistical power. Once when I killed him, some message popped up along the lines of "humanity's best hope for the future is dead." Pretty heavy handed that they meant for him to be taken seriously.

I'm also partial to the NCR because my heroic characters in fallout 1 and 2 worked so hard to lay down the foundations for the return of civilization through the NCR.

Even better though, would be for House's Mojave and the NCR to end up real allies and work together, but that is a future beyond the scope of the game.

The ending that has the Khans and Followers of the apocalypse unite and combine their skills to form a new nation is interesting too. The Khans know drugs and can fight, and the followers are educated. together the nation they could build is seriously worth considering, but what it truly becomes someday is beyond the scope of this one game. But it'd probably be awesome.

House survived the apocalypse, he clearly has a grasp on technology.

But ultimately, if he is talking pie in the sky, that's not a problem. You're still better off with him than NCR.

Siding with House, HELPS the NCR. Think about the amount of money and lives the NCR spent on the Mojave, in the 7 years that is was trying to annex it. Wouldn't it be better and cheaper to just buy the water and power from House?

If you talk to Chief Hanlon he tells you a heartbreaking story about how young men and women with barely any training arrive every week to help with the war effort. And that even if they do annex the Mojave, that will mean holding the line for miles in the Colorado, which they don't have the manpower to do.

By the way, and this is more speculative, but why not? If the do annex the Mojave, the war hawks are not going to stop there. They're going to keep expanding and the problems that you see in the NCR will only deepen.

If you want the NCR to actually survive, they need to throw the war hawks out of office and focus on strengthening what they have, otherwise they might end up collapsing.

That's kind of what happens when you choose House. He doesn't want war. He wants trade, friendship and free movement with the NCR, he just doesn't want the NCR to run New Vegas.

Yeah, considering the presence of the legion, the NCR really can't afford to be messing around with House. If the Legion had never been in the picture, perhaps things might have been different, but the NCR needed to pull back and consolidate and prepare to dig in and defend its primary borders with the Legion on the horizon.
In any case, the NCR and Legion will not likely truly listen to the COurier. Independent and House let the Courier have a much more politically powerful position. That's really relevant, because generally whatever the courier wants eventually comes to be, considering how godlilke the courier is by that point.
