Hey guys controversial topic here Is anybody still playing fallout 76 I have been following the news around the game since launch and to say it was somewhat of a shitshow is an understatement. Although the imminent release of the wastelanders dlc has me intrigued and I am curious how the game stands in relation to bug fixes and general state of gameplay as it stands now. I mean it essentially costs like 20quid now so what to you guys think?? I am quite the fallout fan

Gameplay-wise, Fallout 76 can prove to be a fun multiplayer experience, and I think the only major problem you'll come across are hackers (sometimes), bugs and ping problems.
You should do a little research of some reviews of it first before deciding to buy it.

True, I think what made most of the Fallout community upset about 76 is the fact that the game lacks NPCs, but the upcoming Wastelanders DLC really seems promising.

The game doesn't lack NPCs. The NPCs are the people who like the game

@Kevin Ryman Bruh
As for the original post, I can't say how the game is as I would likely never play it unless it was free, I was paid, and/or allowed modded private servers without forking over a subscription fee.
I have a bias against it so take that into consideration when reading what I have to say. I wouldn't advise getting it. Bethesda's screwed up and it's going to take them a long time to fix it. While you're playing and waiting, you're likely to get burned out from playing it and lose the will to even bother. I'd say if you're really still wanting to play, to at least wait until a few months after the DLC crap comes out and then decide.
I'd just say to wait until it inevitably goes free-2-play due to the flop it is, but I can understand wanting to play a game you know is crap but still want to experience it. I was the same way with FO4. I knew it was garbage, but I still wanted to play it and experience it. At least with FO4, mods can make it somewhat fun. F76 doesn't really have that option. You're at the mercy of Bethesda for getting fun out of it. People say it can be fun with friends, but just about every game is fun with friends so that's not really noteworthy.
Again, I have a bias towards it, but I really don't think you should bother buying it. Best to just stop following it, forget about it, and wait a few years for all the DLC crap to come out and becomes free-2-play. That's essentially what I did with FO4. I ignored it until after everything came out and modders had time to put some interesting stuff out.

It is worth noting that the npcs may be instanced content and not actually adding them to the wasteland proper.
Ultimately it comes down to 'What is the experience you are looking for?' Moreover, how much are you willing to gamble to obtain that experience? By your own post, you seem to understand the problems of glitches. That 3 hour Joseph Anderson video is a year old now, yet still packs the same punch today with all the bad publicity Bethesda seems to garner itself. That isn't to knock the worldspace, or the hours of crunch needed to even make what they have put together possible. It's bad corporate leadership that is to blame for the negativity surrounding their brand.
Would I pay for it? No. But that's the consumer in me who is tired of getting burned. I'm not you. That kind of decision is left to the one with the money and the time being spent. If you DO purchase it, I hope that you find joy in the experience and come away satisfied. If not, hey, it was only 20 bucks.
Edit: Ruminated on this further while in the shower today. The better question I think would be to ask 'Who all here plays 76?' Gauge the crowd, see how many folks would be actively interested in a group for 76 composed of the forum community.

Yeah i understand the points here I mean even 20 bucks or so seems like a lot to give regarding the shitshow that was the release and pretty much its update cycle to this point. It doesn't feel right to reward that. Also the fallout first debacle 15 quid a month are you kidding me fix the game first. It would definitely be interesting to see community wise here how many people have played or even enjoyed it.

I pretty much agree with this. It's not really the price tag that bothers me, it's just not wanting to support Bethesda after how awfully they treated their customers. I probably would have tried it had the controversy not been so long and potent.

I played a bit on my brothers Pc. i woundn't buy it, but I can't judge others that buy and enjoy the game, it's not for everyone, you don't get a "fallout" story out of it. My brother says it's very fun to play with friends, but that's it for him.

From my personal experience, If you have some friends to play with, then I said it is worth to buy it at a discount price. But if you want to buy it because you think it is "another Fallout game" then don't, this is nothing like the previous ones, it is grindy as hell and I personally hate this game when I am playing alone. Also it is pretty laggy but I haven't play 76 for almost 6 months now so I don't if it improved or not.

Please don't give Bethesda a single cent on this game!!! I hope sometime they will leave this atrocity of a game and bring the content to FO4 or use it to make a New real Fallout game.
