Hi, I'm TheEliteBrit. I discovered this forum literally about an hour ago through a video about a FO:NV mod, then found out I have to be an established member of the community to get mod access. I wanted to play through FO:NV as the Master Chief (with Halo weapons too!) so now I'm going to try and induct myself into the community.
So, I'm 18 years old and from the UK (if the name hadn't already given it away). I spend essentially all of my free time starting at my Steam library or browsing Reddit. I've been playing games since I was about 4 and my first console was a Playstation. I can't remember most of the games I played back then but I'm pretty sure they were all shit. I really started gaming when I got my PS2, and then I was just playing movie tie-in games (which I actually loved). I can't remember playing any "classics" or anything, and I was never into Nintendo and didn't play my first Nintendo game until I was about 12. I've only played one Zelda game, a couple Mario games and I've never played Pokemon - please don't shoot me!
Then I continued on to getting an Xbox 360, playing games like Halo, Call of Duty, Fallout, Oblivion etc. Had some great times playing Halo and CoD with my friends, and Halo remains one of my favourite gaming franchises to date - I recently bought an XBO just for the Master Chief Collection.
Now I'm a PC gamer, got my first gaming PC back in 2010. I think this was the year that my attitude and views on gaming changed after I bought the first two Mass Effect games. I went into GAME looking for cheap PC titles and found that there was an offer on, 3 games for £15 I think. I only wanted one of them (can't remember what it was now), so I just had to pick up two other random games - Mass Effect 1+2. I remember playing a Mass Effect 2 demo on Xbox 360 before its release and I vaguely remember watching some old trailers for the game. When I looked at the game, I thought "Oh yeah, I remember this game. It had a spaceship and stuff." I then took a look at ME1 and thought "I don't really want to play this, but I'll have to if I want to play the sequel." So after months of putting off playing it, I finally installed Mass Effect. That's when I fell in love and Mass Effect became my favourite franchise ever. It's the only game that I've collected memorabilia for, bought comics and books, pre-ordered collector's editions etc. Mass Effect 1 remains my favourite game ever. Playing Mass Effect also made me appreciate other things in games apart from shooting things; it made me appreciate storytelling, music, characters. I feel that since playing Mass Effect, I've become more critical of these things in games and I think that's a good thing.
Apart from games, I like to: write, draw, watch TV (mainly sci-fi - favourite show is Doctor Who) and movies (Marvel!), read comics and I used to make YouTube videos (100k views, 500 subs, partnered with Maker Studios) but I haven't really made a proper video in a while.
Don't know what else to say, really. I hope this gives you some kind of idea of what kind of person I am. Hopefully I'll find something here on VGU to keep me hanging around
EDIT: also, here's my Steam profile so you can see what games I have if you want: /id/russianzombeh/games/
