Today I have to delight to bring you the news that one of my favourite long time franchises: Half-Life is currently for free. https://store.steampowered.com/bundle/231/HalfLife_Complete/ I myself have a minimum of 100x finished playthroughs both in HL1 and HL2, so for those of you who have missed it I present to you a opportunity to try out this franchise yourself:
This bundle includes as followed:
Half-Life
Half-Life: Source (Source Engine update some graphical improvements mostly the water)
Half-Life: Opposing Force (The first expansion to the great game)
Half-Life: Blue Shift (The second yet smaller expansion)
Half-Life 2
Half-Life 2: Episode One
Half-Life 2: Episode Two
Team Fortress Classic (the first and classic iteration of what now is Team Fortress 2)
Not entirely sure but most likely a hidden small mission level (mostly was intended to test graphics and effects) Half Life 2: Lost Coast will be added to your library too (This is pure speculation, I received it like many others, it was later added. It could be you have to download this for yourself afterwards but it's free)
Is it really that time again?
12 years after the release of Episode Two we finally got an annoucement and a trailer for a new game. It's not Half-Life 3 and it's not Episode Three. Technically it's Half Life 1.5? as it takes place between HL1 and HL2.
While it's not what I expected and mostly many other fans of the franchise it looks promising as hell. It's the first VR game of the franchise and hopefully it will bring back the franchise into the main focus.
Anyhow the entire franchise is currently free to play until the release of Half-Life: Alyx, so grab it while it's hod. The modding community is still fairly large and fairly active. I can keep going about mods and all the fun things released but that's not important, though if you feel the graphic effects are a little dated try this mod for size.

Good look on this one. It'll be good to get some much needed love to the earlier games, and have some loaded content for Garry's Mod.

Would definitely be taking advantage of this if I didn't already own all these games. Fantastic series. I would highly recommend anyone on the fence about this, do yourself a favor and download them. They're all great
