So if you all haven’t heard, Fallout 3 and New Vegas are now available for purchase through Bethesda.net for $19.99 USD. I was filled with a rush of excitement instantly until reality hit me hard once again and cynicism filled my entire soul...so here’s my question, have any of you been brave enough to waste more money on Fallout 3 in hopes that it will finally run on Windows 10 without your entire PC crashing to desktop and imploding like a dying star? I really wanna be hopeful that because it’s available through their official store now, that it’s finally been optimized but the spec description on the store still says “Windows XP/Vista.” This is Bethesda we’re talking about here and after the almighty failure of 76, we know we can’t trust them to follow through. So if you’ve gotten this far, please let me know if this is now finally worth buying and Fallout 3 is finally stable or is it Bethesda’s lack of care shinning through once again.

I’ve known Bethesda for a long, long time. Fixing a game breaking bug or making a game run better is just not what they do. Especially these days. They care far more about $$$ then they do about the quality of a title, or how it runs on a system. I was really surprised when they re-released Skyrim for 64bit systems.

Maybe if their investors/shareholders cared about win10 compatibility from the devs instead of relying on community made mods. Ultimately I feel like Beth is capable of anything but get more predictable with each business cycle.

It just seems completely odd to me that they would bother making an entire tweet about the fact that both games are now available on Bethesda’s launcher when they’re still in such a broken state. Do they not understand that Fallout 3 is a mess and New Vegas takes countless hours of workarounds to get to a functioning state? Thousands will buy them through Bethesda’s store, and thousands will want a refund when they realize Fallout 3 can’t run on Windows 10 at all. Knowing Bethesda, they’ll deny every refund and laugh all the way to the bank.
