Subject: Too much files/textures in data solution? Thu Aug 22, 2019 6:05 pm
Hello, i decided to get back on New Vegas recently, but i had lot of problems running it.
I'm using the new NVTF - New Vegas Tick Fix mod that replaces NVSR. Because i had too many problems with NVSR (crashes at new/load game, crashes, freeze, etc). Now with it it seem to work well, now depending on what i edit on enblocal.ini it can either lag a bit or not too much.
The sr_New_Vegas_Stutter_Remover files has been removed. NVAC (New Vegas Anti Crash) is still there.
So like i said, my primary problem right now is the black textures appearing out of nowhere when it does not have enough memory because of the game being 32bit.
I was wondering, is it possible to make it run without that kind of problem, no stutters or lag and no crashes (at least not too often) all at once? The answer is probably yes but how? Is there some new mod i'm not aware of? Otherwise, what configs should i use? I want to fix the problem, not bypass it with let's say, compressing the textures.
Any help is welcome.

Probably a silly question, but are you running the 4gb texture for NV?

Yes, but i guess it is not enough. Plus enb boost does kind of the same if i understand well doesn't it?

Enb boost doesn't patch the executable itself, which is what FNV4gb does. If you're using the latest version, then it should be fine. Could double check?
Failing that, what mods are you using? It could be an issue with a conflict. I've recently had black textures and crashes from just running environmental retextures in New California. Even patched, there's only so much this old engine can take before it breaks, sadly...
I would genuinely suggest following this guide when setting up a Fallout New Vegas modded game. In my experience, it's the most reliable guide.

I'm sure it is because of Drags armor compilation, it is doing those black textures since then, and it is only when i'm around too many things, but his pack is well above 12gb so that's why i was asking for that, i'm already using the 4gb and it is not enough, i'd need at least 16gb and even so, considering how the game is made, if you bypass your limit, it start doing this kind of thing, so i'm wondering if there is any way of making so it doesn't happen, unloading other textures when they're not needed for example? I don't know exactly what i need so if you have any idea, let me know, i'll check the video later but i've already seen lot of videos and none helped me, and i think this was one of the video that i watched.

Might be a little late, but did you manage to get the game to work by disabling the mod? I know FNV has an plugin limit of about 130-140. That can cause a lot of memory issues.

I make sure i have no more than 110, i have about 100 right now. Does merging the mods counts? Or since the ESM or ESP files are getting bigger and bigger, it affects it in some way too?

Nah, as long as the plugins are stable (and if the merger works they definitely should be) then you shouldn't have a problem.
Did disabling Drag's mod work?

Disabling just the esps, no. Removing the files from the mod in data, yes.
I am using Merge Plugins found here: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/69905
But it has its problems, some times the weapons won't have their weapon mods, some times they're missing stuff and such problems, so i was wondering if there is a better way of merging plugins quick and easy, there is the manual way but it is a bit long. Anything good and recent?
