While Fallout: Tactics is definitely not one of the most fondly remembered Fallout games, I think that the game had a lot of interesting ideas. I am a fan of the new Firaxis XCOM games and I think that this model would do well for a remake of Tactics. While the East and West coast of the Fallout has been explored, the Midwest has not received a lot of love and I would love to revisit the Chicago wasteland (I'm a proud Illinoisian).

What do you all think of an XCOM like Fallout game?

InXile is doing that sort of thing with Wasteland which came first before Fallout. If you are looking for an XCom like Fallout, follow what they are doing with Wasteland 3.

Yep, Wasteland 2 is the answer. Also Fonline could be the answer, but we're talking about an actual developing. It is free-source MMO styled game based on Fallout 2 files. With a devoted team it could turn Fallout'ish world into something more X-Com alike. I remember I had quite fun in my FOnline days when playing with my faction/gang.
