Played FNV on Xbox a long time ago.

Started PC gaming less than 5 years ago and the first thing I did was attempt to mod Bethesda games, with varying results.

I slowly learned my way through NMM and INI files and Vortex, but I wanna get better at understanding my mods so I am using MO2 now. I feel a lot more in tune with my mods and it's great, but as I am using new and different mods I am back to running into issues and having potential install/uninstall errors on my part.

Always a fun process though.

Recently I ran into some big issues on a 100 mod list and my first complete playthrough on MO2. Enemies were being friendly for no reason. Marked men, white legs, Fiends, almost every humanoid enemy. Non-humanoid enemies were normal and hostile. Seems like some mod added the PC to all factions or something. Never found out which mod did that.

Also, something completely disabled/broke Dead Money. Which was devastating because it was on a complete playthrough and the last content I planned to do before Hoover Dam. In a desperate attempt tto save the playthrough I deleted the entire mod list and Dead Money was still broken. Some mod had broken it and I wouldn't be able to tell why. I tried to verify my vanilla files and the game became a CTD on start up and had to compeltely reinstall.

So now I'm building a new, moderate mod list and enjoying myself but I'm bummed I have a lot to learn. I'm hoping it was just one messy mod I downloaded that was causing all my issues. Hopefully not multiple mods mixed with user/installation error.

And I joined GUN network because I keep seeing it pop up in mod guides/videos and at first I thought 'thats another level of modding that I don't need to get into my PC isn't even that good'. But I keep seeing it and now I am thoroughly enticed. Even if I can't run the mod load orders y'all have. I want to understand them better and see your results and potentially mimic those builds to a much lower scale.

Do you have your old mod list with you? I would be very curious to see which mod specifically could do this

There are some very poorly made mods for F3 and NV. I remember that one mod added a perk that let me drink blood from anything. Literally anything, whenever there was a prompt to talk to a living person, open a door, open a container, interact with a quest object, ect, the game asked me if I wanted to drink blood from it first, and I could do just that. I would not be surprised if some mod also broke the game for you that way, maybe a conflict that could have been resolved with a merged patch. You don't need to be conservative about the mods you install, but you can't be careless, either

Anyways, welcome, hope you can start again, sometimes, it's better to start from scratch, anyways, as there might be more/better mods you did not have in your library available to you now

Oddly enough I discovered 'delay dlc' and 'simple delay dlc' were not operating correctly on my MO2 build. I'm so confused because I have used both on NMM/Vortex in the past and they have worked. Basically, the DLCs were not being activated. But I didn't notice because, sadly, you can just enter HH, OWB, and LR. And I suppose they force activate when you get there or go through the door, etc.

But DM didn't seem to do that. Confirmed this by just using a fresh start with only the delay mods installed and sure enough the grate was "requires key" when I walked up with one of the mods. Both times. Sure enough, if I uninstall and wait an hour by the grate, DM activates and the grate unlocks and the radio plays. I'm so bummed I missed what was an easy fix for that playthrough.

And I have yet to find out what caused the faction issue before. If I get it again I will come running back.

I occasionally post videos of my exploits. The NCR FPGE videos were from the playthrough I fucked up, luckily it didn't affect my overall goal which was to experience a complete FPGE NCR game world:
