| @"DDeckBBacon" I thought about that except it was a chem addicted sniper but maybe alcoholic would be more wholesome. |

| Have you done the "Quintessential Three" archetypes yet? F1 was meant to be played as either a stealthy thief, a charismatic smooth talker, or a dumb tank. Force yourself to play as one of the three, players usually just mix all three for a perfect character, but that didn't fly in the older games, and it made things interesting _________________ http://z0r.de/?id=293

| If you have watched the Daredevil show you're gonna like these builds i've been thinking about lately:
Daredevil build: https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/66858
This one is a heavy unarmed, melee and sneak build, basically a ninja, high END and AGL, so any mod that improves or/and balances unarmed/melee goes good with this.
Bullseye build: https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/59853
Well, for this one applies any kind of mod that improves on the throwable weapons like these: https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/35714 https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/62767 https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/66461
And any perk/trait that gives you more accuracy goes too. _________________ - Kek:

| Glass Cannon build. Low health, but high damaging. This playthrough must be used with difficulty changing mods in order to work because the base game is just fucking easy lol |

| You should try a kill everything run. Just rp as a psychopath and go on a rampage. Honestly the ending slides for this type of run are hilarious so you should do it for just that reason alone. On the flip side, you could also do a complete pacifist run, which is a bit more boring imo. Finally, you could do a low int high str character and use only melee and unarmed, it's a lot more fun than it sounds. |

| A drug addict (jet or psycho) if you go trough withdrawals for a certain time (5 irl minutes) you have to jump off the grand canyon. But if you get are on any jet or psycho you can use console commands to make your stats high. _________________ swiggitty swooty I'm coming for that booty -George Washington |

| If you were good, then go bad. Vice versa. If done both - then why not chaotic neutral? Or like someone else suggested, be a jet addict. _________________ I seem to have lost a Penny. |

| So something I tend to do when starting a new Courier is write their backstory. I cover what ailments they have, who they are allies/enemies with, things like that. An example would be my current courier, Jack: - Spoiler:
Jack was a child soldier for a group of raiders in Baja south of Tijuana. He grew up as a killer and got the nickname "Jack the Ripper" The gang leader taught him how to read and write, which Jack would use those skills to write journals and read holotapes about ancient Japan. He grew to love the stories of the Samurai and their nomadic lifestyles after it became illegal for the Samurai to carry swords in 1876. (Therefore, Jack carries a Samurai sword but can't use it effectively). When he was in his 20's, he led the Raiders to use white phosphorous on a NCR Ranger party (which turned out to be civilians, think Spec Ops: The Line). So torn with guilt, he left and became an alcoholic and a wandering mercenary who is trying to be a pacifist. He helps people who need helping but otherwise prefers to be alone. Now, after getting shot in the head by Benny, Jack is once again fighting the urge to let "Jack the Ripper" out as he tracks Benny down. He does not want to become a mindless raider again but the Mojave is not as forgiving. Now, my skills reflect what Jack's life is like: - Higher intelligence because he knows how to read/write. - Low agility vs High Strength for him being a large stature man (think Opie on Sons of Anarchy) - Doesn't talk to many people after leaving the Raiders = Lower Charisma - Alcoholic (so must drink whatever alcohol he can find before going to sleep) and now is a Med-X addict because of his gunshot to the head (Must take Med-X after it wears off EVERY time) - I give myself a "Vilified" Rep with the NCR as soon as a new game starts because Jack is a wanted man BUT Jack refuses to kill NCR troopers so he must outright avoid NCR settlements (until he get's the offer from Ambassador Crocker for a pardon)

| A lot of these suggestions are really good. The main idea is to switch up your approach to whatever way you usually play the game.
Always rushing in head-on with reckless abandon? Install some super high-damage modifier mods and force yourself to take the stealth approach or else die fast.
Usually play a good/ mixed affinity courier? Play the game like a drug-addicted bat out of hell from another plane of existance. A low intelligence run is basically required once for FNV. The dialogue that pops up is hilarious. _________________ - Can you figure it out?:

| You could also try a Dust Playthrough if you have not tried that yet.
Dust Survival Simulator
Any combat build will work to be honest. The resources is so scarce that the decisions that you have to make to survive makes the game very interesting. _________________ Will there be enough Dakka? |

| @ahyuser001 I completely agree, I have actually just started a run of Dust and it is fantastic. I think honestly everyone should give it a try at one point or another. If you do play it, I would recommend that you use a mod that lowers the rate at which needs go up, as they seem to skyrocket in this mod. Also, keep in mind that everything in this mod has a use. Even things that were useless in the normal game. |

| Roleplayers alternate start is a good place to get the basis of a playthrough going, but it will only stay interesting if you put yourself in someones shoes and think from your player's perspective. You can stay faithful to a built or playthrough style but you cannot undo the hours of gameplay you've already put into NV, i.e you know the consequences of most actions in the game. My technique for sticking to something is to adapt and think on the spot for someone else, I feel that it keeps things fresh. Bad characters can have a redemtpion over time, or a once honourable man turned scorned and evil. For playthrough types, there a limitless possibilities. You could try a pacifist scientist/doctor who doesn't believe in taking a life (Followers perhaps) Brotherhood outcast (Either Coast) Ex-Enclave turned merc. Hand to hand specialist. Apache native american build (There are plenty of apache mods out there) Cyborg/synth build. Railroad Agent, Slaver from D.C. If all else fails, there's always the classic bounty hunter build that everyone has done at one point in time _________________ "We're not tools of the government, or anyone else. | Be a cunning Jet addict, that frequently chases the get with a hit of psycho, then steady, then a bottle of whiskey/vodka whatever, that'll go back on his word if theres even a little bit in it for him, try not to do things for free, and if u do get screwed and do things for free without being paid (whether if it's intentional or they just expected u to do it for free) steal a bunch of their shit. Any weapon you want, any armor u want, whatever. Just a lil guidance. |

| Someone mentioned Dust, I would recommend that, and generally different quest/gameplay mods. Depending on your setup you can turn FNV into a modern FPS or more of a pure RPG.
For an example of the first bit, I have different folders for a Dust playthrough, a Project Brazil playthough, a normal playthrough and a TTW playthrough. |
