Original Title: Yet Another Generic "I'm New Here" Thread That You Probably Won't Actually Care About Until I Can Prove That I'll Be A Worthy Member Of Your Community, But I'm A Hell Of A Narcissist So I'm Making One Anyways.

Hi, my name is [REDACTED] and I'm a [REDACTED] year old male that lives somewhere in the western hemisphere. I used to like anime. I've been playing video games my whole life. One of my earliest memories is sitting at my mom's old blocky PC thing playing Harry Potter and The Chamber of Secrets. I remember NetScape, and I used it extensively. I used to be outgoing until a year ago, but it hasn't affected my sociality on the internet, so there should be no problems. I'm 100 pounds and quite underweight. I have brown hair and wear pseudo-horn-rimmed-glasses because I'm a hipster who loves nothing more than turning myself into a caricature of the very subculture that is hated the most. My Steam account is worth over $2k, which isn't that much (relatively) but I'm proud of it. I played Fallout 2 first, and Morrowind when it comes to the Elder Scrolls. I don't like any Elder Scrolls games anymore. I didn't like Fallout 3. Fallout: New Vegas has taken most of my sleeping time. I'm somewhat of a smoking enthusiast. I own multiple hookahs, but my favorite by far is my little Mya Razo. I like grape flavored cigars, but I won't divulge to you my favorite brand. My favorite non-tobacco herb is probably sage. I'm trying to grow a beard, and my neckbeard just recently fully connected under my jaw. Now I get to wait for it to spread upwards for yet another five years. I'm very enthusiastic about my interests, even to the point of driving away real life friends from how excitable I am. I have no real life friends except for my live-in partner. My best friend lives eight hours away from me, and my other best friend lives in the States. I have lots of very close online friends that I don't consider my best friends. It doesn't bother me that I don't get "real" socialization. Politically, I align to an ideology that's somewhere between "I only serve to point out the hypocrisy in your beliefs" and "I don't really care beyond pointing out how you're a massive hypocrite." Religiously, I'm a very morally guided person but other than that, I couldn't tell you more if I wanted to. I like to be very well-worded, in-depth, and respectful with my arguments when it comes to debating. Outside of debating, I do my best to thoroughly make my argument the last one so that there is no further conflict, and failing that, at least shift it into an intellectual debate as opposed to petty squabbling. I like guns. A lot. I like music a lot too - as you could tell by the Lord Hipster title I graciously adorned myself with, there is no genre that I do not listen to, and by extension, no genre that I think is complete and utter crap. My favorite band used to be Andrew Jackson Jihad, but then they sold out. I used to be into punk rock. I'm glad I grew out of that. My current favorites are: Bjork, Plaid, Aphex Twin, Sorority Noise/Old Grey, Envy, Toe, This Town Needs Gun's first two releases, and clipping. Oh, how I love clipping. I used to not like Anthony Fantano until I saw his interview with Nardwuar yesterday, and now he's a pretty cool guy in my book. I'm not as callous as I may seem. Or maybe I am and I just delude myself into thinking that I treat everyone with respect to the best of my ability, I dunno. My favorite novel of all time...is a hard question to answer. Non-fiction would have to be one of Bukowski's memoirs. Fiction is Ender's Game. I like Scott Pilgrim a lot more than I should. Spiderman is amazing and if you think any other Marvel superhero displays such a perfect balance between "complete and total fucking loser" and "the coolest man alive," then I think you're wrong. I love old Doctor Who episodes but I cannot stand the reboot series, despite trying to force myself to enjoy it for the past seven years. I really did try, I did. I'm sorry. I have a 3DS and the only thing I ever do on it is pick weed from my Animal Crossing Town and play Fire Emblem: Awakening. C-C-CHROM! I got roped into running a stupid ironic meme page on facebook by a few of my friends and now, rather against my will, we're one of the most popular and current memers in the community right now - I'm your go-to-guy for state-of-the-art, fresh-out-of-the-oven, intelligence destroying memes, and I'm not proud of it. My favorite way of ingesting caffeine is a triple shot chai latte, oolong, steeped extra long, preferably in a smaller cup so that the espresso is brought out more vividly. I like collecting vinyl. I hate CDs, and especially cheap plastic jewel cases, more than any other physical object on the entire planet, except for maybe canned tuna fish.  I'm planning on going to University for astronomy soon, I just need to tie up a few lose ends at home before I can. My favorite movies are Her, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, A Boy and His Dog, and Dark City. I'm very close to my mom and I love her a lot and I'm going to be very sad when she passes away, but hopefully that's far off.
My true passion is video games. Divine Divinity made a very considerable impact on my childhood and the standards that I hold games to. Halo 3 was the very first video game I played that I was wholly disappointed by. Divinity: Original Sin is great and I'm glad that Larian can still make good games (Beyond Divinity and Divinity II were horrible, sorry.) but it's just too damned long - and I never thought I would say that about a game. I like S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat a lot, it's one of my favorite FPS games. Shadow of Chernobyl was boring and bland to me for some reason, but CoP was a masterpiece. When it comes to general genres, my heart will always lie in post-apocalyptic adventures - and that's not just because of Fallout nor was it started by Fallout. There's always been something about humanity being reduced to our very roots while still having limited access to the modern technology we do that's been very appealing to me. I don't like zombies but every other form of apocalypse is great. The only zombie media I can stand is 28 Days Later - I find most other zombie media to be either extremely tacky, boring, or both in the case of DayZ. (Sorry, if I'm going to have a walking simulator, I'd prefer to do it in real life...) Dark Souls was great, I liked Dark Souls II (And apparently I'm an abnormality because of it) The only true JRPG that I ever finished was Final Fantasy (the original) and after that, I had enough of menu-based games that I wouldn't even touch EVE Online. Just kidding, my best friend and I own an extremely successful logistics and hauling corporation. Huh, must seem like all of my accomplishments are the ones that aren't tangible. Well, it's true. I only recently played Deus Ex and it was really amazing. I'm horribly addicted to Payday 2 to the point where I absolutely despise the game and yet I still play it for at least two hours a day. For the past week or so, though, I've been playing New Vegas. I was really iffy on whether or not to try it, actually, and thus I put it off for...what, how long has it been? Four years? I dunno why I was acting like that though - Obsidian have been my favorite game devs since KotOR2, and I had completely lost all faith in Bethesda by Fallout 3's release, so I have no idea why I instead stuck to playing Fallout 3 for another half decade and hating it instead of loving the beautiful piece of art that Obsidian developed. Hell, I even liked Obsidian's South Park game a lot more than I probably should have, and I didn't even try New Vegas until a week and a half ago. New Vegas is ripping my life away. And I'm not sorry one bit.

I'm here because I remember this website having a lot of controversy a few years back from people who were upset that they couldn't just rob you of your bandwidth like the Nexus, and since I'm actually a rather avid forum-goer now (I really wasn't back then) I figured it'd be a nice community to join (or at the very least, better than the Nexus...er, no offense to anyone or anything.)

Sorry it was so long. And sorry the title is so cheeky. I'm a bit of a cheeky ass though, so I guess it fits well in my introductory post.
Basically, I'm extremely excitable and I'm glad to be here and I'm glad that I can get this post out of my way so I hopefully won't have to talk about myself, personally, much more after this.
I hope to become a very regular member of this community as I am with the other few that I am a part of. Oh, and if you seriously actually read all of that and got this far, I'm so, so, so sorry.

P.S. The rules said no politics, but I was wondering if it'd be okay to have a fictional New Vegas politics thread? Like, ah, discussing the benefits and drawbacks to each of the different factions and why you may have chosen a certain one. If that falls into a violation, nevermind. And if that's okay, would general fictional political dicussions about the political groups in different video games be okay as well? I really like the fictional politics that arise in some games, and I think that New Vegas did a really cool job of actually fleshing out the factions, compared to a lot of modern games, even compared to ones that are as in depth as New Vegas is.
