| I tend to be cynical, so I'm not expecting this to ever be finished, but damn if it isn't a nice sentiment. I can dream; I mean, there was a point when I'd given up hope of ever seeing a fallout 3 and beyond and it happened (sort of.) Bethesda would make gobs of money if they did this themselves and didn't somehow mess it up with shenanigans. https://www.moddb.com/mods/twoc |

| Oh man I really hope it would be finished. I think there was a mod that tried to recreate first fallout in NV but failed. It’s really challenging to make fallout 1/2 map work as open-world. But if it ever happens, it would be great.

| the map of fallout 2 would be very huge, stretching from far higher than Reno to San Francisco, well beyond the capabilities of the Gamebryo engine. i'm not very trustfull ona decent mod of fallout 2 on NV or FO4 |

| @nervo82 I don't think there will be lot of desert in this mod. To quote the Q&A: "How will you move between the towns? - Our towns are actually big and extended worldspaces. Inside such worldspace you will be able to fast travel like in New Vegas. Between those worldspaces we have a worldmap, similar to Fallout 2." _________________ |

| @ Garska (Original Post) Boy this looks really interesting. I have to confess that my first Fallout game was actually Fallout 3, but I am most certainly interested in this! But I will also say that I'm not surprised to see a project like this. I mean, when you've got projects like Morroblivion, Skywind, Skyblivion, Tale Of Two Wastelands, and the mods that are recreating Fallout 3 and Fallout New Vegas in the Fallout 4 engine. The best thing we can do is be patient and see where things go. I'll cross my fingers with you Garska. |

| Even with all the wonderful big worlds and dlc-like conent coming out for Bethesda/New Vegas games, this would be one of my priorities if I could choose. Once fallout 2 is in the New Vegas engine, it opens it up to being modded even further, which might lead to interesting things, like expanding content in some towns even further. Modding the original fallout 2 is somewhat limited compared to what we can do now with Bethesda's engine. I can only imagine how big the fallout 2 nexus would be after all this time if it were Bethesda-moddable. |

| @ Sirdanest Oh indeed it would be opened up to modding. I mean, take a look at Tale Of Two Wastelands before it reached version 3. It had a small handful of awesome mods made for it. As for Fallout 2 being an official Bethesda game in an alternative timeline (if only space time travel where possible lol), that would be pretty amazing from the sound of it. Though if we're playing around with that idea. When would of Fallout 2 had been released? The game came out in 1998, and the first Gamebryo Bethesda game was Morrowind, which came out in 2002. The Elder Scrolls II: Daggerfall came out in 1996. So perhaps Fallout 2 would of been released In 2004 or something. We can all dream right? |

| I have to wonder why Bethesda didn't do this themselves. But then I wonder about everything they do or don't do. |

| @ Sirdanest In all reality. Bethesda could probably get another office, along with hiring another team just to remake all of their old tittles. I mean with all of the HD remakes we've been getting in recent years. You'd think it would be a natural step to take for Bethesda. Also, there's nothing stopping Bethesda from partnering with Obsidian again. I would entirely rule that out of the realm of possibility either. I just pray that they won't be wenies like last, and only allocate 9 months of development time like the did for Fallout New Vegas. I'm sure that since most of the original people who worked on the classic Fallout games also work at Obsidian. They would probably be the best choice for remaking any or all of the old tittles. But alas, Bethesda tends to have a history of abandoning their old products once they feel that they're complete, and thus, we have to rely on dedicated fans and mod teams to take charge of what Bethesda will never do. It just takes a lot longer is all. The only exception to this is Skyrim Special Edition, and that was because of very special circumstances. |

| I have to admit I am intrigued by this. The assets look really well done and the concept art looks great too. I really enjoy the vast canyons and desert environments, armors and models molten clouds has made. Im looking forward to this more and I hope it doesn't get shut down for legal reasons or abandoned. _________________ swiggitty swooty I'm coming for that booty -George Washington |

| I remember this project! This is like a really old project and it seems like there isn't any new news on it.
Doesn't really change the fact that I still want this project to be completed though. _________________ Will there be enough Dakka? |

| @ahyuser001 the project is actually alive and well. Or it at least seems so, seeing from the discord server. |

| Like so many big modding projects, I have a feeling their team is too small. |

| @ahyuser001 yeah they regularly post updates on discord, usually the models and stuff. Definitely a challenging task for sure.
