Hey new to the scene. anyone can tell me what I need to be able to do what dragbody does. I mean like creating customs armors.

bout me, im military and getting ready to deploy (non-combat) so i figured this would be the time to jump in on VGU. if i can find the time want to learn to mod and create custom armors like dragbody....but i have been saying that for years, easier said than done right.

Dax, the best thing you can do is search for tutorials.  The Nexus (hiss, hiss, I know) has a bunch of good ones and there are many useful ones on youtube as well, even though the people tend to backstep themselves in videos ("oops I forgot to do this step" etc).

There are primary 2 methods to making custom armors - the 'copy branch/paste branch' method using only Nifskope, and the more involved, in-depth method using Blender.  

I wholeheartedly recommend Blender over the 'Nifskope' method.  It takes some dedication to learn, but it is totally worth it.  Gives you nigh-total control over the content you can mod into your games.

Also, Blender is extremely intuitive and straightforward once you learn the hotkeys and such.

I'm sure there are models that people have given out for editing purposes. I would just google it if I were you. Then again, someone more experienced might have a resource for you.

Well you need to be more specific than that.  

Which armor files?  Do you mean Fallout 3/NV's, or do you mean armors from other games?  Because the answer will vary depending.

just spent 2465 on new laptop so plan for some heavy gaming while im gone and school so on top of work lets hope i get so time in to learn how to mod....wishful thinking but i'll try.

You can get armors and meshes from other games from a multitude of sites... Facepunch (their modeling forum), Deviantart, and countless smaller sites like Foundation3d. Its easy to extract them from some games as well, but you'd need the right programs and those vary from game to game.

He ports armor, which is complicated i heard, the best thing to do is to find a tutorial on how to port to NV.
