So I'm finally on my thanksgiving break I thought I would share a few words about the new Fallout game and what I have been thinking about it in the past few days of play time.
Getting right down to it Fallout 76 was one of the most anticipated games I've ever seen and even I had waited a long time for it. I never really thought I would see the day but here we are in bethesda's attempt to make a MMO which to me it didn't turn out as bad as I thought it would. Take it or leave it with no human NPC's or it's not very immersive main story it's still a game I've enjoyed playing so far. Mods have always been a big part of fallout but one thing I've realized is that to enjoy this game you can't treat it like it's a fallout game at all. It's not a fallout game at this state to me; it's a MMO that's based on a post nuked world. Honestly I'm excited to see how this will work out but I'm defiantly prepared to be disappointed. I will continue to play 76 because I have faith that they will be able to do something exciting with the DLC and they have plenty of time to update, fix, and add stuff on to this game to maybe make it to a much better game rather than it's current state of the game.
It's crazy fun to roam the wasteland with your friends and that could never change to me as it's something I've always wanted to do.
What have y'all thought about the game so far if you purchased it and what do you think they should change in order to make the game last?

I honestly wasn't looking forward to it all that much, I thought it was going to be to Fallout 4 what ESO was to Skyrim. As it turns out it's almost 1:1 with Fallout 4, which pleases me greatly. Honestly, I've just been having a real good time with the game. I haven't spent as much time in and around my settlement thus far except what I need to upgrade my gear. The settlement stuff is less fun if you're like me and playing by myself.
I've been playing this game like I play Stalker and it has been a lot of fun. I just gather the stuff I need to support myself and then I just go out exploring Appalachia. It's easily the best looking game Bethesda has created so far. I haven't run into the bugs described by others so I guess I've been lucky so far.
Anyways, that's my thoughts. I didn't have any expectations, wound up having a blast with it.

Honestly!
I love it!
It's totally bugging and needs a lot of work but this game is going to be so different in another year from now. I can see it being a great multiplayer game.
I don't understand the hate it's getting. If you don't wanna play the broken non-single player game. Just go back to Fallout 4.
This was a first time thing. Give it time to grow and it will be great! Especially when the mods drop

NOBODY asked for it, NOBODY wanted it. I doubt even Todd wanted it. What people actually wanted was a singleplayer story mode like the past Fallout games but with co-op. That's what some mods were aiming to emulate, the experience of playing through a singleplayer focused roleplaying game with a friend, not a complete all-out MMO that Fallout 76 aims to create.
All Bethesda had to do was write a story for this game, get actors to voice lines for NPCs, follow what made the past games great but instead add an optional seperate Co-op Multiplayer mode in the main menu. Had they did this, the game would probably be amazing given how interesting and gripping the world looks.
It does please me that people finally know that Fallout 4 wasn't the end of the world now as people cracked it up to be. Now people actually are lusting for the days where Fallout 4 was the biggest departure from the Fallout series. Now Fallout 76 is the current Fallout game, and more than two thirds of the Fallout community are focusing their attention on hating that, for better reasoning. Half the time people criticized Fallout 4 their criticism was grossly exaggerated with a lot of hyperbole to make it seem like it was the tombstone for Fallout.
So much for that #SavePlayer1. Bethesda are looking more and more like EA with every passing day.

I agree with the other three here, the game is a lot of fun honestly.
Have had a lot of fun playing alone looking for lore, shooting mutants and just exploring. I have also had a lot of fun with my friends showing them the lore locations and blasting our way through the horrors of the wastes as an Enclave squad. The game feels like any other Fallout game post main story, which is a rather big plus. Have also had a rather bug free experience with the only ones I can name is the stretched limbs and the way scorched hold their weapons sometimes, but other than that I don't think I can really name any other bugs I have experienced first hand.
Overall I am enjoying the game and am really looking forward to the future of the game.

I haven't really purchased it yet because it doesn't offer me that long replay value similar to the other Fallout games, except Fallout: BOS, for its price tag however I am still hopeful that they will pull out a "no mans sky" with this game.
Despite it being having a lonely world and pointless PVP it has great potential since they devs are free to add features to it that might add life into the game. It is definitely not a day one purchase but there is a lot of potential to it that I am keeping an eye on it(since they promised free updates and all).

@"The Red Shoe" I've heard a very similar argument from one of my favorite youtubers, can't mention his name since he usually talks about politics, about if you don't treat it as a Fallout game it is actually a pretty good game.

I have been loving every second of the game. Seriously. It has been just tremendous. Sure, a few bugs here and there, but overall, no complaints here.

I was Exited for Fallout 76, I pre-order the £200 Power Armour Edition.
Playing the Game is Really Boring nothing to do. No NPC to drive the story. Reading and listening is the story. I haven't come across any Major bugs but i have come across the World slowly becoming a 1999's game (texture's Slowly becoming Worse) I don't have a weak PC if you think thats a case, It has happened to other people.
The game needed a new engine for Online to work.Instead of being built on from the previous engine,
Based on a fallout 4's engine it had code from it that had to be change for online but it is Stressing out the engine causing more bugs Than Fallout 4.
But i will say it will become good when they fix up the game and hopefully allow mods and private Games.
I do still play Fallout 76 but i dont play it like fallout 4 / New Vegas.
I dont see it as a Official Game just a spin off Title like New Vegas.
New Vegas seems a lot more than a spin off game... with more lore, dlc, and content than this

Never forget that Fallout New Vegas was made by the original creators of Fallout and is the continuation of Fallout 1 & 2 and based upon the original concept of their vision of Fallout 3.
Fallout New Vegas is more of a proper Fallout 3 then Bethesda's Fallout 3. Beth's Fallout 3 is more of a soft reboot as it's story is essentially a rehash of Fallout 1 and 2 combined.

It will go down as a meme game, as the biggest mistakes of the AAA industry. At this point in time Fallout 76 symbolizes too high expectations, mismarketing and overall dishonesty. One scandel after another has driven this game into the proverbial asscrack of gaming history. Sure roaming a world barren of content is fun with friends, but like Mr. Sterling says; "getting your asshole sown shut is fun with friends too."

@Obdulio Omfg, finally someone else around here points this out, i mean yeah, i really enjoyed 3 back in the day when i didn't know shit about fallout and its lore, but oh boy it really is hard to go back to it after playing the originals plus NV.
About 76, i don't hold any hope for the future of this franchise, Bethesda has been going downhill on the writting department since a long time now, better RPG's made by other studios with actual competent people are on the horizon however.

@stoobygacks lol Jim Sterling himself sits in the proverbial asscrack of gaming commentary. That butter golem has absolutely nothing original or praiseworthy to offer. All he does is chase controversy endlessly and drum up rage over it.

Fallout 76 is in a weird place - There are legitimate problems with it, but on top of that there are about fifty other illegitimate problems being spawned purely out of bandwagoning and a dislike of the core game itself. Some of the most common complaints are...
'Todd Lied in the E3 Showcase' - No, I'll be honest, he didn't. I trust people that say this are commenting on how buggy the game is rather than any actual proof. Because the man didn't lie - The game can serve up to 16x more detail in areas, it has been worked on by multiple studios and does feature a map four times larger than fallout 4. It does have new lighting and rendering systems and... Am I forgetting anything else?
'It's buggy' - Hot dang, yes it is. Our first legitimate problem - It's quite buggy in fact, but honestly... It's really not anymore buggy than the next Bethesda game, which people haven't had any special problem with in the past.
'I saw the word 'Dragon' in their code!' - This is such a non-argument. I'm guessing what they were looking at was a behavior file. Which... Yeah - That happens, every company with it's own engine reuses code. Does that mean the scorchbeast is a copy/paste of Skyrim's dragon? Hell no, not even close. People that bring up this complaint have absolutely no idea what they're talking about.
'They skimped on our bags!' - True! But this isn't really a problem with the game, more a problem with logistics at Zenimax, BS or whatever company was tasked with manufacturing and distributing the bags. It always baffles me when people rave about how they want their corporations to be more honest, but lose their mind when they actually are. Still stinks that the bags were nylon though. x-x
'They found lunchboxes in the code!' - Yeah, they found that word and what it was associated with. And now they're SPECULATING on what it could have meant... Speculation... That's not fact. And honestly, even if they were planning to introduce lootboxes, are you seriously going to pitch a fit over a AAA company hearing the complaints about lootboxes and removing them pre release?
I'll be honest, the real reason the game is getting dumped on is because it's not a traditional fallout game like the majority of people seemed to want. Which is fair play! I would've honestly preferred that too - But just say that, for god's sake... Instead of drumming up all this ridiculous ammunition to throw at Bethesda instead of owning up to the fact that you really just don't like the game.
( Sidenote - What the hell is up with comparing Bethesda to EA? They've made hit after hit for years, grown the modding community exponentially and treated their employees better than some other studios that sit in better 'standing'. They make one bad game and y'all are willing to doom them alongside a company that has gone out of it's way to screw over it's consumers for years and years now? )

@IIHawkerII I think it is mostly from how items are sold in the atom shop (showing the original price as "discounted", overpriced items, the purchasable emoticons "scam", etc).
People are probably getting EA business practices vibes from these which is why they are being compared to each other.

@IIHawkerII You are absolutely right. The game has BIG flaws, but you've highlighted the more popular non-arguments I keep hearing about the game.
My favorite is the Dragon Scorchbeast... I mean... JUST LOOK AT THEM ! One has 4 legs, the other has two ! If the mesh, skeleton and animations are different, I wouldn't call it a copy-paste.
Also, people compare Bethesda to EA because Bethesda added microtransaction to their games by Creation Club and the Atom Shop added by FO76.
However, what people tend to forget is that microtransaction were mandatory to progress in EA's Battlefront 2, like, you just HAD to buy them regularly to be able to enjoy most of the game's content. Read : Most of the game's content was locked behind pay walls.
In FO76, the microtransaction prices are outrageous, yeah, but at the very least, it's still side content. You don't have to buy that expensive fancy power armor paint to be able to progress in the game's story...

I'm hoping to purchase it but it seems that everyone is saying the game is a blast to play with friends but it falls flat if you treat it like a singleplayer game. All my friends are still playing R6 or RE2 soooo there's that.
