Subject: Hi, I'm Claudius - and I'm a gamer Wed Dec 12, 2018 12:30 pm
Hi all. My nick is Claudius (written Clavdivs) and I'm on a journey to get back into RPG after a dry-spell. I looked to see if I could find something on my shelf, or in my Steam inventory. I did see my hard copy of Fallout New Vegas, and in my steam inventory (sale - you know how it goes), but this game is 10 years old. I thought; "maybe this is a game I think of fondly because of rose tinted glasses" and "no reason to drag this up from the vault" (pun intended).
Then life throws you a curve ball and you find out that the friend you thought of as a bookworm suddenly has been converted to a PC gamer because of Fallout New Vegas. And I'm back on the bandwagon. Or stage wagon.
Since I work as tech support, I like to do some research before I get started. And Gunetwork kept popping up with great mods. And then I realize that there's life! There's a community out there. I signed up.
I'm going to peruse some of your posts and see if I can't find other mods that are highly recommended and get ready to play Fallout New Vegas.

@Clavdivs76 - welcome to GUN. Sounds like you found a place you're going to like. This community is not just friendly, but very supportive of FONV. Peruse away and I think you'll discover this for yourself. Enjoy!

I too am having an absolute blast revisiting New Vegas. A properly modded NV is a thing of beauty.
Hope you have fun here and in the Mojave. See ya around.

Thanks guys and dolls.
So, my head have stopped spinning after trying to make heads or tails out of things. I found a post by Lucianhector with the YouTube link to GamerPoets at TTW Community Guide - what a thing of beauty!
I got so inspired by that vid, that I ended up creating vids on "how to" for my employers FAQ page.
Last time I modded something to oblivion (hehe), was with FO4. Using Nexus Mod Manager. Now I've switched to Mod Organizer 2. WOW! Thanks to a great "how to" vid, again by GamerPoets, I'm happy as can be. And I have an idea what I would like to start out with, but I'm curious as to what you use of ENB? Currently I'm looking at Rudy ENB and Nevada ENB (and more...)
So, what are you guys using?
Oh, and if you are a bit bonkers like me and think that real life just isn't grueling enough, what mods do you recommend for hard core survival?
By the way; here are the links to the vids I mentioned:
(he just posted a new one)
Edit: nitpicking grammar and spelling

@Clavdivs76 Yea GamerPoets makes great guides and lots effort seems to go into making those videos. So hats off to them.
For ENB's I was using some de-saturated ENB called Forlorn ENB, but got tired of it had some quirks I wasn't enjoying anymore. So I switched back to Jays ENB, Google it you'll find it. Not on Nexus anymore. I'm happy I switched back. Both exteriors/interiors all have the "look" that I was wanting again. ENB's are the cherry on top for me. All the mods I want installed, but without an ENB, I dunno I can't get into it. Just my opinion of course.
For survival for simplicity sake, you could just tweak Project Nevada's https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/40040 settings using Mod Configuration Menu https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/42507 (which the mod requires anyway.) and change loot spawns, damage thresholds etc. to your liking. Still depending on what other mods you do decide to install for FNV, you might need Project Nevada compatability patches. Just something to keep in mind.
