i'm new to playing with mods , my first dabble with them was with darkest dungeon which was a blast
i wanna ask you guys while we're at it , in your opinion what's the most fun game to tingle with ?

My favorite game to tinker with, huh? That's a pretty difficult question for me to answer, honestly. There are so many I love to mess around with. Fallout 3, 4, Skyrim, Oblivion, KoTOR, various roms... I gotta say, though, it's New Vegas. While its engine severely inhibits what you can do, I think it's fun trying to find various workarounds. It's just such a fun world to mess around with, you know? I'm biased as all heck since it's my favorite Fallout game - period. It's like Fallout 2 meets Fallout 3's engine with some improvements.

But as I mentioned above, Gamebryo is a bitch to work with. Skyrim's engine, Creation, has loads of new stuff and is much easier to work with.

My favourite games are: New Vegas, Skyrim, KOTOR2, C&C3, CoH, This is Police.

But New Vegas has make me love post-apocalypse genre.

@deus ex machinist - Welcome to GUN. New to modding is actually a pretty exciting place to be. New Vegas is the first game I modded and yet I think, as @Timeseeker mentioned, not the most forgiving. Skyrim is maybe better/easier to learn basic's. There are probably others I'm not familiar with.

Whichever game you start with, you'll find friendly people here to help. Enjoy!

@deus ex machinist Welcome, I think you'll find that no matter your level of involvement or what subjects you're into, this place will somehow find a way to accommodate, shit, at least it did for me. There's a sprawling community here that is really welcoming. I would suggest you join GuN's discord to have a real time conversation with our community, I'm sure you'll find a few friends there.

As for my favorite game to twiddle with, I love messing with ArmA III, mostly because it's a pain in the ass, and if I can fix things to my liking there, I'm sure I can mod just about anything else lol.

HELLO THERE. Not an original answer for sure, but modding Bethesda games are pretty fun, though sometimes rather limited.

Other games I enjoy”modding” (more like save editing) are borderlands and recently grim dawn, just to see how the gear turns out. Especially borderlands, since the effects are more pronounced

i played fallout 1 and loved it but didn't have the chance to add mods because laptop but now i upgraded to a beast pc which im looking forward to abuse
