PostSubject: Help NV Mod issues   Help NV Mod issues EmptyThu Sep 25, 2014 10:33 pm

I've been having some serious issues with my game, since I've switched around my weather mods I have had many issues. After I switched back the weather mod and started from a save before I changed it, whenever I enter a new area, I get the missing mesh exclamation mark, and missing textures. This isn't an ENB issue, and I have re installed the mods that affect the textures that are missing, with no avail. I don't want to lose all my progress in this game, but it's unplayable. Also when entering an area I cant open the pause menu and if i open the pipboy it crashes my game.
Heres some screenshots:

Wow I have seen bad but this takes the cake! and considering the exclamation points and what not I can only firgure that

a) you have multiple esp's running and you have reached your limit, this could be fixed by reducing your load order by merging mods.

b)archive invalidation. Try it at least

c) a massive mod conflict.

or

d) your game is simply corrupted. it happens sometimes when mods are taken in and out of a save game especially with larger mods like ENB or what not. I have no idea how to solve it if it is this case. :/ thats my two cents you will have to wait and see if a more experienced modder has seen this before.

you might have to many mods installed so i would do a new game then if that don't work uninstall some non vital mods and try again and if it fails keep uninstalling the unessential mods until it does work. good luck with fixing it

I've run in to a similar problem once. My game scripting was not running correctly due to having to many plugins. The suggested amount is 135 plugins and each mod you install usually puts at least 1 plugin into your load order so i would suggest doing what midnight1996 said and just remove the ones you dont necessarily need.

If this does not work i recommend a clean install of your game and mods it will take time but will sure fix the problem.

Hey Jones you realize you don't have to remove them to fix the problem right? I have a program that can merge two mods into one to reduce your load order and keep the mods! Very Happy I can't link yet though but I think its called FNV plugin utility. Easy to use and really helpful, find it on nexus!

PostSubject: Re: Help NV Mod issues   Help NV Mod issues EmptyFri Sep 26, 2014 9:50 am

Hey thanks to everyone for the suggestions, but the thing is use mod organizer so I can basically play vanilla at any time, so it doesn't have to do with my game being corrupted but probably just one of my saves. MO also has automatic archive invalidation, so that's not the problem. I might just try to start a new game, and see if everything's fine. The thing is I have had to do this before and I really don't want to lose my progress, so if anyone knows a way to remove old scripts that could help. Previously I had a save where after I removed Nevada skies my game always crashed if I loaded a new area, but this just doesn't load meshes or textures.

PostSubject: Re: Help NV Mod issues   Help NV Mod issues EmptyFri Sep 26, 2014 11:09 am

Red exclamation marks = missing meshes.
Crazy ground textures = missing textures.

1) What is your load order?
2) What mods did you install/un-install
3) Regardless of what program you use (NMM or MO) have you manually toggled AI?

Generally, it's a very bad idea to switch/add/remove mods in mid gameplay. To test if it's a install issue, simply start a new game. If everything is okay, then you now know that your current save is messed up and should be deleted. If everything is completely FUBAR with a new game, then you know it's your mod installation that's completely borked.

Post back and let's try to sort out the specifics of your issue.

I have automatic archive invalidation ticked on in mod organizer so it is definitely on, and I have uncheck and rechecked it dozens of times. The mods that I changed was Nevada skies to Nevada skies URWLified. I also don't know how to post my load order through mo, so if anyone can help with that it would be appreciated.

If you use BOSS to sort your load order, it produces a text file of your load order in:
Windows (C:) -> BOSS -> (name of game folder...Skyrim, FNV etc) -> modlist text file.

I'm not sure if LOOT has a similar function though.

Honestly, I'd just try to start a new game and see what happens first. Don't delete your old saves just yet though...just be systematic about this. It will help to figure this all out if you are able to answer one question...is it the mod installation or the save game that's borked? The only way to know for sure is to start a new game with your current load order. From there we can trouble shoot the mods that may or may not be causing these issues for you.

Thanks I will give it a try and give you my load order as soon as I can get back to my PC, I hope we can figure this out. I also use boss for fallout so thanks for the instructions.

Yeah you definitely went over the mod limit. Well your mod limit anyway. You need to either lighten your load order or start merging mods. I would recommend merging all your weapons in to one esp, same with armor, possibly npc changes.
Code:
http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/39655/?
I just found out about this now actually(used to do it manually). Just read the readme and you'll be fine

Not between the time of starting the game to the time that I had a crash.

all right so after I went through my modlist and removed the unnecessary mods, and now it seems to be working just fine, I had no crashes with my new game but now it's time to test my old save, Thanks again everyone.

Help NV Mod issues Empty
PostSubject: Re: Help NV Mod issues   Help NV Mod issues EmptyFri Sep 26, 2014 4:33 pm

Okay, first off...that's a lot of plugins closed eyes smile

This is going to take a while, but disable all your plugins. Start a new game, and make a hard save of the 'Test' character once you leave the Doc's house. Exit the game. Activate only one plugin in MO. Start the game, load your 'Test' save and see what happens. Continue to activate mods one at a time untill you get the crash/issues. This is the only way to 100% troubleshoot mod conflicts/issues or combinations of mods that cause game instability.

You've got a pile to sort through. Once we find the mod or combination of mods that are conflicting/causing crashes, we can then look at fixing it. It may be as simple as re-installing them, adjusting load order etc...but we need to find the specific causes.

If you'd prefer not to go through all that, then the best option is to uninstall all your mods and attempt to rebuild your load order. Either way, it's going to take some time to sort out.

Post back when you find the culprit(s).

N~dles

EDIT: I see you got it working...but just to be on the safe side, I'd still do what I suggested above. Your game was working fine until you swapped out weather mods...so something got borked up. Better to fix it now before you invest any more time into the game.
