I've never seen the sequels to Star Wars. And I don't think I intend to, based on what I've heard of them. I'd rather watch the prequels.
I'm sure some ladies and gents here have seen em. Give it to me straight. What's the overall quality of the movies? Are they worth giving a watch?

I will openly admit that I haven't seen anything past Episode VII with the exclusion of Rogue One. I didn't bother to watch Episode VIII because friends warned me that it was awful, and on top of that, I watched YouTube criticisms of it which made me further repulsed by it. Episode IX is apparently even worse, so I think it's fair to say I saved myself money, time and patience not even bothering to watch it.

I did watch Episode VII, and while that wasn't perfect, it was more tolerable than the clips I see here and there of Episode VIII and IX, even if it was just a shameful rip off of Episode IV's narrative and structure.

Rogue One was a bit slow, but other than that I really enjoyed it. It's better than at least two thirds of the prequel trilogy without any question. If the sequel trilogy was made and produced in the same way, I wouldn't have given up on the franchise altogether.

To be completely honest, the only good episode was VII. The others are just terrible and really just not worth watching. Unless you want to murder everything that made these characters in the originals special be thrown out the window and wasted. Almost as bad as Game of Thrones

Pretty much what I think about the sequels, they are terrible overall. Episode VII was kinda good, didn't like it that much tbh, got kinda bored with the characters mid-way, the acting was good (at least for a SW movie). Adam Driver kinda carried part of the movie on his back at the end of the film with his acting.

Episode 7 is deceant but is just a re hash of episode 4 with no real idea how we got here with the First Order being so strong even when the empire fell. Episode 8 is the worst star wars movie ever and I doubt I will see another that will take its spot. Episode 9 is bad but Adam Driver Kylo Ren is okay (he is the only good character out of the main cast) and of course Palpatine is great but he gets butchered the way he goes out that makes you question a lot of what was going on in this trilogy when he dies to his own lightning being reflected on his face. Anyway Rogue One I though was the best out of the new movies but it's a slow movie to get into. Solo is meh, not bad but not good just mediocre. If only they had planned things out to write the story or would have used at least SOME of George Lucas stuff for the sequels. Who knows mabye they can re boot and get rid of the sequals with the way they are headings with the TV shows and somehow the Asoka show would finalizes it.
