I'm curious about this as well, assuming you mean hard on FPS. In SSE it definitely can impact FPS, but you have a choice when generating those LOD's from 512 to 2042 textures. I can only think (read as 'hope') that the same is true for this in FONV. |

Simple answer is yes. If I hadn't of lost those screens from SSE recently, I'd post them to show you how awesome it looks though. The author of the mod you're looking at is the same author for most of the LOD mods. BUT...don't discount it yet. I have no experience with it in FONV and it may work better. SSE is a heavy CPU usage game to begin with anyway. If you can generate the texture/meshes in 512, the game looks significantly better and does not make your game much "heavier". I'm hoping someone here who has dealt with LOD generation in FONV will lend us both some advice. |

| Yes, it'll depend on how many LOD packs you install but ether way you're giving your system way more objects to process at any given time, the burden primarily falling on your CPU.
That said, in my experience its nowhere near as hard on your system as it can be in Skyrim, I'm using all the LOD packs I can find and I haven't had any noticeable drop in performance or increase in memory usage myself
I suggest just giving it a go and seeing if its for you, its very easy to remove the files it generates so you can go back at any time. Personally I find whatever hit it may have worth it for the better visuals, some of the missing LOD in FNV is really ugly, like the lack of roads.
Cheers

| @"huythong123" I know this post is a year old but in my experience generating lod has actually significantly helped my performance and frame rate I'm wondering if you ever managed to generate proper lod because if not I have some generated that I could share. _________________ "Well, assuming you survive the radiation sickness, the lynch mobs, and the possibility of going feral, one day you'll get old and decrepit, like me." - Raul Alfonso Tejada, 2281 |
