| So I imagine that anyone who has played through Fallout New Vegas (Specifically the boomer questline) probably remembers the Boomers have a virtual reality pod that the player, unfortunately, cannot use. This seems like a wasted opportunity in my mind of what could've been a cool dlc or quest. But now that that's out of the cards, my question is if you could use the virtual reality pod for anything (even something that doesn't necessarily make sense with the pod being pre-war) what would you want the simulation to be other than the flight sim the Boomers say it is. I think It would be pretty cool to see some sort of first-person version of the first fallout. The different perspective would be a cool way to replay the first fallout and the new perspective would probably lure some people who haven't played Fallout 1 to give it a try. |

| Yeah that was a let down, it's most likely to be cut content, since it doesn't make sense that they don't give you acces to them even after you help them all the way from repairing their solar pannels, fixing their generator, and giving medical attention therefore saving the lifes of some boomers to even get the old bomber for them.
I't would be great if you could collect some VR holotapes in the mojave (obviously from tech based places like Helios One or Repconn), and then try them on the VR pods to do some pre-war military exercises or maybe just like you said, an easter egg from another Fallout or whatever. _________________ - Kek:

| It was a shame, but it was probably time and engine limitations, not sure how FNV's engine would like flying planes around.
With it being VR the possibilities are endless, you could've had a horde mode with a selection of enemies and maybe some xp at the end or co-ordinates that lead to a unique weapon/armour. _________________ - My Achievements:

| There's loads that could have been done even without going into plane flying.
It could have acted out like that VR game Hotdogs horseshoes and handgrenades, where you get the swarms of simple enemies and a whole shoot range to practise everything on as a kind of reward for not only helping the boomers but also getting pretty far into the game. |

| Yeah when I got to the boomers and seen the pods and they said I can't use them it was indeed a big let down. In Fallout 3 you have the VR pods that take you to Tranquility Lane and not to mention the DLC that takes us to Anchorage in a VR simulation. So we know that the capability was there from previous game. I'm sure some mods can fix it since Belthan had a VR world in coito ergo sum, so the possibility is there. To answer the question I would like a VR simulation like the Holodeck from Star Trek or the Danger Room from X-Men where you can pick things to fight and battle. Like a training simulator that could reward XP. _________________ |

| It'd be really fun if this big VR sim they were all going on about just turned out to be the Asteroids Arcade game. _________________ "It's 106 miles to Arroyo, we've got a full fusion cell, half a pack of RadAway, it's midnight, and I'm wearing a 50 year old Vault 13 jumpsuit. Let's hit it." |

| I remember first completing the Boomer quests after seeing the pods thinking that I'd eventually gain access and the disappointment after figuring out they were useless. It seems pretty strange to me that nobody has made a mod utilising them yet. _________________ Two wrongs don't make a right, but three lefts do!

| I can't imagine they ever intended to do anything with the flight simulators. If they were going to, then they would need to make an actual flight simulator, but NV did not have any sort of driving mechanic it could mimic and I highly doubt they would have even attempted to. They probably saw the Anchorage left overs and decided to use it to explain why the Boomers knew how to fly planes. |

| The VR pods that both the Boomers and BoS possess have a lot of untapped potential. If I had my way, I'd assign them both to different lengthy quest lines where you'd live out the entire life of someone in a scenario. It wouldn't just be VR, either. The pods would wire into your brain and you would 100% believe that you were, in fact, this person. Maybe the Boomers pods would have you assume the life of a WW2 pilot where you take the fight to the axis powers. You'll be getting flight training by living the life of someone long since dead, watching their story unfold in the process and only coming out of it when they finally die.

| It's even worse because we had two different VR simulations in the previous games, one for the pint-sized slasher and the other to fight off Chinese forces based in Alaska. I think mod authors should consider these pods for future, DLC type mods with their own regions, quests, and characters. |
