Hey everyone! Right so if the world was coming to a apocalyptic end which Fallout setting would you pick?
Fallout 3: Where everything is dark, gloomy and not to mention them subways with ghouls... OR Fallout New Vegas: Where their is gambling, drink, wh*res and so many weapons to choose from!
So, what one would it be?

Definitely New Vegas, I would head straight to Freeside. You have the Kings/NCR to protect you, securitrons in the area, the Followers of the Apocalypse to help you. And if you get lucky you can go to Vegas. And if you have the money to go to Vegas, you can rent a room from Vault 21. Sure, it's not perfect but I think it would be better than Super Mutants and Enclave everywhere.

Hi to you! Honestly, New Vegas is my favorite one on the Fallout series, would be a awesome setting, and kinda of a paradise comparing to any other post apocalyptic future, but it would never happend. Its my choice for your question, though. What about yours?

It almost feels like you answered your own question. I'll take "gambling" and "so many weapons to choose from" over "dark and gloomy" any day!
New Vegas for sure.

I would actually choose Washington DC! I love the idea it is in complete ruins. An the fact that you will have to work to survive.. OHH! An the freedom to do whatever you please! Although I would most likely end up getting eaten by a Mole Rat just outside the Vault

That's a hard one for me. While I like Fallout 3, the New Vegas setting seems more appealing at first. But it also occurs to, say your against a real life Ceaser's legion and the real life NCR doesn't win the war. I suppose I would be caught and killed at some point or turned into a slave for the rest of my days. But Fallout 3 isn't really much better with super mutants and ghouls to fight at every turn.
Also the enclave but I guess they wouldn't be nearly as bad as the Legion. I mean if there is some real lone wanderer to beat the enclave and get clean water to everyone I suppose it would work out in the end. But I guess in terms of a chance at life being semi normal and tolerable I say New vegas.

Hey Cracky, welcome to VGU.
I am going to move your topic to the Fallout Discussion section.
and I prefer NV. Clean water, less mutants running amok. The only thing you have to worry over is NCR/Legion war.

DC absolutely. The smell of metropolies is irresistible.

But filled with ghouls, muties and God knows what else. I want live on the Strip in NV and live a quiet, peaceful life.

My neighbours are worser than that. And they're humans.
Jokes aside, it's a matter of pros and cons... for me, the charme of DC still beats the fact that you can die every corner.

I go with the safe bet Fallout New Vegas. But if everything has be orange then I'm going to Fallout 3. It's better than all the orangeness.

If I were to live in New Vegas I may pick Jacobstown and help the nightkin. At least it's mostly peaceful on that mountain. Or just stay in Goodsprings.

I feel like no one would survive in the dc apocalypse except the nastiest survivalists.

DC. Life's too short and boring to waste it away in NV.
Also I live in Australia, and NV is just another boring outback. I need a big city once in a while, especially if death is around every corner. Exciting!

In DC, your survival often isn't a matter of skill or luck. Unless you were raised in a Vault, the Enclave, or the Brotherhood, you have a good chance of dying from the radiation sickness that we see so many people suffering from.
I would rather live in the NCR and see how a government adapts to the new challenges. The West has outlets for everyone, from the peaceful types to the warrior types to the happy-go-lucky, gambling, whoring types.

Man thats a tough one, like others said its either die by ghouls and supermuties or be a slave or junkie for the rest of your life. i would go with fallout 3. it is my favorite fallout setting so far, but it would be really tough living there. if were starting of like the vault dweller being used to living in the vualt and out of nowhere being thrown into the outside world sounds like a huge huge change. hehe like you said i would problably me eaten alive by a mole rat as soon as i stepped out. but if i managed to make it to megaton and start working long enough to buy some decent gear i might have a chance in joining the brotherhood some day.

I'd just put a gun to my head. Better that than dealing with radiation, raiders, scorpions the size of professional wrestlers, deathclaws, poisonous water, etc.

Thats really tough, thought I'd hate a nuclear apocalypse anyway. But if I had to it would be NV because like you said its way more fun and full of life and I guarantee you anyone who chose DC the second they got there they would realize that it wasn't all shits and giggles and would have to fight you're hardest to survive
