I haven't play New Vegas for a while now, so I kind of forget which DLC I personally enjoyed the most so I decide to let you guys decide for me. I googled around for a while and there's no clear answer. So please help me decide.

My kokujin i recommend you to play in this order:

I'll point some things and tips just in case.

1st - Honest Hearts - The easiest(and shorter), Hell you can play it on level 10 if you want to, it gives you some goodies(Like the Survivalist's Rifle, The 45. Auto pistol, Desert Ranger Combat Armor and such) for the road either in the mojave or for the next DLC, you can't go back to the mojave until you complete the DLC, though The enemies won't rape you lol.

2nd - Old World Blues - Now this one is harder, The ammo will be more scarce so you will have to bring a lot of materials to make bullets from the mojave, the enemies are definetly tougher, Nightstalkers(lots of them), Cazadores, Robo-Scorpions(which are hard to beat, i'm saying this from a 34 lvl character) Again, you can not go back to the mojave until you complete all the thing, the enemies might rape you.

3rd - Dead Money - Now this is some real shit, all of your stuff will be take out of you when you get into it, the enemies are tough but they're slow so it's easy to evade them, the map is more restrictive, the ammo and consumables are so damn scarce so be careful on what you do, You can't leave until you complete the DLC, The enemies will rape you if you don't choose the right companion or don't know how to deal with 'em.

4th - Lonesome Road - The Hardest, the enemies will be HARD and will fight with everything they got, you better go there armed to the teeth, here you will have the best badass looking armor of all the damn game, The Elite Riot Gear and a lot of good weapons, the enemies will definetly rape you, now here you can leave and come back whenever you want.

If you're a completionist, I'd avoid this order, as Honest Hearts, although easy, takes one of the highest speech checks in the game to get the good ending. The same also applies to Dead Money. Personally, if I were you, I'd do Old World Blues first, as the best ending can be achieved rather easily, and the DLC itself is probably the best out of all four. By the time you're finished it, you should be high enough level to do any of the DLCS 100%, and so the order after that is really just up to your preference.

Additionally, all of the DLCs, unlike the base game, scale to your level, and so the difficulty is relatively easy regardless of what you do first. Honestly, you could probably do Lonesome Road at like level five, as it dumps so much good gear on you in the first five minutes that you can pretty much take on anything it throws at you.

All of this obviously is relative, it depends on your character.

I could say the same about Old World Blues and Dead Money, since you need to pass a lot of speech checks, specially for medicine and science(which you shouldn't be able to pass if you do that DLC first, assuming that you're on level 10-20, most of them) Same for Dead money, depending on your character obviously, you're still gonna need a higher level and SPECIAL to complete some parts of it.

Play them in order. The stories tie into each other and make more sense when you do.

The skill checks in Old World blues however have no impact on the game world, nor character progression. The only thing you miss out on by going into Old World Blues early is a few lines of dialogue. Meanwhile, going to Honest Hearts first completely locks you out of game altering content. As for Dead Money, I already mentioned that it should be done very late.

I like to play chronologically for the story arc of the Courier six.

Personally I say "Dead Money" since in my opinion. It's the best DLC in the game. In fact it was my first DLC and I originally played it by accident(I wanted to start Honest Hearts first), but after going through it I fell in love with the DLC! Such a great story and alot of fun. Check it out! Smile

@845386958

It doesn't really matter which one you pick as long as Lonesome Road is last. The other DLCs are their own story with hints towards the story of Lonesome Road.

But if you are trying to find the DLC that you liked before...

> Honest Hearts a story about the burned man and is either his story about moving on from the past and getting redemption or a story about his vengeance and how it affects the lives around him.

> Dead Money is about the stories of the lives intertwined by Sierra Madre Casino. It is also a story about letting go.

> Old World Blues is a comedy skit. Nuff said. My personal favorite.

By order of their release. That's the way it "should" be played. Honestly though, there really isn't a right or wrong way of doing it. There's just this sort of build up to Lonesome Road. Take the three dlcs in any order you see fit, but make sure you leave Lonesome Road at the very last because its the conclusion to all the mystery towards the "courier with the old world flag on his back".

First time I played the dlcs, I didn't understand jackshit. I just went through it, took the cool gears, and left them. Now I'm replaying them and focusing more on the story and damn they are pretty good. Go to DM with high luck btw if you want to get banned from gambling in the Sierra Madre Casino. It helps with collecting the mods for the Holorifle and getting the Complimentary Voucher so you can get free .308 rounds and other supplies like stims and weapon repair kits.

Order of the release seems canonical but you do you boo.

I think Honest Heart is the DLC most ppl you should start out with. It has no relationship to Elijah, Chrisitine, and Ulysees. Lonesome Road should be last though.

Imo, HH then Dead Money, then OWB, then Lonesome Road

In my various playthroughs, I ever played DLCs in this order:

1- DEAD MONEY
Yes, it's very hard, expecially at the start of the game, but it gives you so many advantages, like 37 gold bars Which DLC of Fallout New Vegas should I play first? 1f60d , power weapons and a good armour

2- HONEST HEARTS
Easy and short (I love the ambientation Which DLC of Fallout New Vegas should I play first? 1f625 ) with very good weapons

3- OLD WORLD BLUES
A bit boring in my opinion, but it gives you the possibility to change traits... [u]sing it well, you can bring to 100 all skills

4- LONESOME ROAD
My favourite at all, with fantastic ambientation and history. It MUST is the last for 2 reasons: the lore and the difficulty of the DLC

well for me it's in the same order but in roleplay and strorytelling perspective like i help camp forlon hope and then inspect if there are any legionaries in the perimeter so i found a bunker the rest you know. after that i go back to my journey which is the stripe cant pay for the entrance so go to work for the happy trails caravan the rest you know it.
and then i go see the science fiction thing the rest you know it. and finally after settling my bisness with benny i go to see this Ulysses guy the rest you kn....

this adds so much the role play and immersion you can check my list if is true based on the dlc endings.

best regards

I suggest to complete the main storyline until your character is strong enough, especially for those speech challenges, in all of those DLCs the last challenge is a speech challenge, through them you can unlock all the good endings without some usless fights.
Also in the dead money dlc a girl called Veronica can unlock a special ending in Dead Money.
But anyway my order for the DLC was this:
- Dead Money (i was level 70 at that time but was a hell even for myself lol)
- Honest Hearts This is the easiest one after i arrived to Zion you can kill John Masterson and his crew too, well that is what i did).
- Old World Blues this is the place where you can gain a new companion and alot of equipment, some crazy high tec stuff.
- Lonesome Road i recommend to come here only after your character is like level 75 and with at least 80% of your skills at level 100, and with heavy equipment, but no worries in this dlc you will find some badass equipment with extra unique items if you play well your cards.
OR if you don't want to do that you can just console command yourself and go like that, so you can roleplay better with that, but if you want a true nightmare experience than play it normaly it worth it.

This is all my suggestions and descriptions hope it helped Smile.
