| This is something I've been thinking about for a while. The male Sole Survivor is a retired army veteran who served with distinction. There is really little that tells us if he is pro or anti-military at the time we are introduced to him, but as the game tells us he is about to attend a veteran's hall banquet in Concord where he is set to give an passionate speech about war, and how it doesn't change. He says the world is on the precipice of destruction and that he is afraid, so while he is by no means pro-conflict he is also embracing his army past by attending said event.
With this in mind, how would the Sole Survivor (Nate) feel about the Enclave? As direct representatives of the US pre-war government and military, you'd think he would be positively predisposed towards them given his past. He'd likely trust them over anyone else in the wasteland, even the Minutemen. Unless of course he'd blame the destruction of the world he knew on them as a faction.
Still it makes you wonder if they weren't included for this reason as well as the ones already known. Canonically they would seem a pretty obvious choice for Nate, when forced to make his allegiances. A former soldier of the US army who actually served in pre-war times would likely be valuable, if nothing else as propaganda (and it makes you wonder why so few of the ghouls you meet were soldiers before/during the war).
How do you suppose Nate would have interacted with the Enclave, if they had been present in Fallout 4? _________________ |

| I was pondering something similar to this in all honesty. I have been fleshing out a companion for New Vegas that would've been a figurehead for the military pre-war...similar to Nate, but would've been brought to one of the Enclave bunkers during the great war and frozen similar to Nate. I think he might've went along with his patriotic values for a while, until getting a glimpse behind the curtain of what the Enclave's true intentions were. I haven't quite lined up all the lore behind the character, but I would have him lose faith in his government and head west, to find his home. There he would be possibly swayed by the NCR or become a loner, I haven't decided yet.
I think he'd still be a patriot for what his country was, but would hate what it became.
Basically, I want to give him a companion quest that would answer the question: "where does a cowboy go when he rides off into the sunset?" |

| Nate would probably reference a pre-war rumor regarding the Enclave as a shadow government of the US(which they were) but the SS backstory is a little vague to determine if he would be hostile/friendly with the organization soo.... I dunno _________________ Will there be enough Dakka? |

| I think the closest we’ll come to answering that is the character’s interaction with the brotherhood of steel. The “war never changes” ending also gives hints that he might be conflicted about war/conflict or maybe just weary of it altogether.
It’s been a bit since I’ve played fallout 3, but I can’t say I can point to many differences between the Enclave in fallout 3 and the brotherhood in fallout 4. Both seem to be single minded in pursuit of what they claim to be the greater good, collateral damage be darned. |

| In my opinion, I think that Nate would have joined the Enclave. He is a man of duty after all, and regardless of how you feel about it, two of the four choices are to ally up with a military organization. After them, its the intellects and the freedom criers, both of which Nate as a soldier would have had to deal with on a regular basis on and off duty. One being the data analysts and the other being protesters, which Nate would have met anyways at some point. Nate would likely team up with the Enclave if he met them first and had never ran into a Ghoul or a Mutant that didnt try to murder him on sight. Whose to say Nate wasnt affiliated with the earliest incarnation of the Enclave? As in a special task force? His name would still be on file wouldnt it? NCR , I think Nate would join, but also see a huge problem with how they dont really discipline their soldiers hard enough.Behind both groups however, Nate would more than likely find the fact they are repeating the sins of the past very distasteful, and more than likely go ROGUE and become a character akin to FRANK CASTLE. However this is all under the possibility that the Enclave meet him before he meets any friendly mutated people. Or that the Ncr meet him before he can hear about their greed over land resources. |

| I honestly was hoping that I would run into the Enclave during my play through years ago. It just made too much sense to actually have them in FO4. A group of remnants who survived the events of Fallout 3 are lying low until you as the SS reveal that you are pre-war through Piper's interview. They search all across the wasteland for the SS and when they finally do catch up with you,the remnants revere you as their new leader and think that if anyone could rebuild the Enclave and America,it is you. They probably wouldn't have been a major faction due to the fact that I'm not exactly sure how they would go about rebuilding themselves since I'm sure that they wouldn't let wastelanders into their ranks, but it would've been cool nonetheless. _________________ |

As for the topic at hand, I think the Sole Survivor would be considered a great fit for the Enclave (a practically rad-free military veteran from the original US army? I mean, c'mon), and I found it VERY odd, to say the least, that a huge faction with continent-wide bases and the level of infrastructure seen in FO3 can just up and vanish from important areas. I really don't think they should be a powerhouse in the Commonwealth or anything, but not even reclaiming their own resources (like the armor at Poseidon), seems very off to me. |

Definitely, that is if I can pull it off. |
