I just started experiencing this glitch and it's a major game breaker. Randomly, I'll start getting a constant stream of radiation that won't go away. This will end up killing me. I have absolutely no idea why this is happening.

First, when I boot up the game and load a file, it loads up and I immediately get a constant "4+ RADS" or "10+ RADS". I then reload that same save from there and it goes back to normal. I have to do this for every time I decide to play the game. Next, sometimes if I fast travel to some area, I'll get "10+ RADS", but this time I can't just reload the save. Just a few minutes ago, I decided to travel to Abernathy Farms and was immediately greeted with a 10+ RADS stream. I read online that to fix this bug, simply fast travel. It did not work and if I traveled too far, I'd die the second it loaded.

At first, I thought it was associated with x-01 power armor as when I exited one suit, I got a constant stream of RADS, but I reverted that save and my current save never touched one so I have no idea where this is coming from. None of my mods touch radiation that I know of, but from the google searches I've done, this seems to be a vanilla problem.

As you can imagine, this makes the game very hard to play if I have a constant 10+ RADS because I'll have to pop Rad-X and Rad-Away every minute or so lest I die. I would greatly appreciate some help as I really don't want to have to trash the whole save as I spent over 24 hours on this save.

The fix is to get rank 1 of the Aquaboy perk as the game thinks you are constantly under irradiated water.

@Kakashi Hatake I'm trying to avoid that perk because it makes the game far too easy, but if it's the only fix I might have to do it. I'm just actively avoiding the OP perks like aquaboy, max adamantium bones perk, etc because I want there to be somewhat of a hazard other than leveled enemies which are just annoying.

Console commands are your friend then @Wertologist . You can use Player.removeperk 000e36f9 after you added it to see if it was permanently fixed by adding the perk in the first place.

@Kakashi Hatake The perk didn't fix it. I still have +10 rads stuck on me.

Are you sure you dont have some mod installed that causes that? I think there was a gas mask mod called fallout 2077 or something along those lines that made it so that if you dont have a gas mask at all times you take ridiculous amounts of rads.

@Hauki is a kala Never even heard of that mod. This is something that just started happening the other day after 24+ hours of game time.

I even did two separate dispell commands and both said there no effects. Then I did dispellalldispells and that did nothing as well. I have no idea what is even causing this. It's actually making the game unplayable because I'll die in a matter of minutes. So far the only thing I can think of is to completely start a new file, but I'd really rather not do that because I have so much invested in this save and I don't want to throw all that away. I built up 5 settlements to be really big and detailed. Spent hours on each. I don't want to throw that out.

@"Wertologist" At a quick glance i didn't notice anything that i know might cause it but I can try see tomorrow if I can help you find a fix for it since I know how frustrating it can be to start over. But for now you could try make a new save and see if it happens in that one aswell since that might help narrow it down somewhat.
