I N T R O D U C T I O NSo its pretty cool we now have a comics hub. I would probably suggest adding a "/Manga" in the subforum's name as the other side of the world also has some cool stuff out there.
Just wondering if there are any
real Walking Dead fans who read the comics.
I am at the point where I watch the show at 1.50 speed since I find it too much of a drag to continue watching.
"But maybe one day the show will catch up to that one bit and then all will be forgiven"
The comics have recently added a whole new saga that may be interresting.
Hell maybe it will work towards an ending for the story.
I'm just gonna assume giving the comics an ending will make the show improve as the filler in the show is necessary in order to not catch up with the source material as Game of Thrones did.
The comics are pretty much 15 to 20 minutes of reading 12 times a year and the show is 40 minutes 16 times a year. Go figure.
Thats just my little overall opinion on comparing the two.
The Walking Dead comics may not be the prettiest comic out there, it may not be the most well written. I'd even argue it can be a bit stupid at times.
But no other time did a writer try to write a zombie story that never ended. "Atleast until we have issue 250 out the door"
With a new era in the comics possibly involving stormtroopers its an exciting time to start reading if you haven't already.
And maybe share your thought on it if you do read it.
- Issue 175 cover:
The overall goal of this little topic here is to maybe discuss the issues as they come out like people do with most ongoing TV-shows in that subforum.
I guess since opinions could also be shared it would be nicest to use spoiler tags when discussing a newer issue.
T I M E L I N ELike I said I want this post to be continuously updated. Even if no one enters the frey of the comment section I'll just be here every month.
I'm not gonna summarize the last 175 issues but I will go and start with 176
- Issue 176:
- Cover:
With last issue's major cliffhanger its a good thing the comics aren't anything like the show. Most of the issue has Michone's perspective and follows her in going through the formalities of this new civilization they'd just found. Eugene also finally gets to meet Stephanie as short as their encounter is. Hopefully we'll be seeing more of these two in the following issues. Its a damn shame we'll have to wait another month to see this story unravel but atleast there's a heartbreaking mother/daughter moment.
