So I've been watching this Youtube series where a guy plays Fallout New Vegas without killing anything and I'm wondering if any of you have done a similar thing and have any experiences?
It sounds really tricky to do and I had one idea but I'm unsure whether it'd end up being a bad idea.
If I took animal friend rank 1 the animals wouldn't attack me but they wouldn't fight for me. But then I probably could not run away while drawing their aggro to save my hide.
I dunno, I just get confused when it comes to leading two things near each other so they will fight whether it's in the spirit of the thing but I don't know if it's possible to not do that.

If a pacifist run isn't something that you like do you guys have any ideas for challenges that would make the game more interesting? I just tend to make a character and play the game nonstop for quite some time and then stop playing and make a new character and I was thinking maybe that would make me stick to a character more with not just doing the same quests the same way. I hope I'm making sense. I mean something similar in spirit to a Nuzlocke in that you put an imaginary set of rules in place for your playthrough.

I would recommend the Stun and Tie Up NPC's mod (https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/57446/) for someone interested in a playthrough like this. Here's a good challenge I bet a lot of people haven't tried (but absolutely need to): LEARN HOW TO PLAY CARAVAN.

Ooh that stunning mod sounds useful reminds me of how cowboys in movies hogtie the villains and give them to the sheriff. Playing caravan sounds confusing I never understood the card game and I don't understand most card games. If someone wanted to make it into a fun build they could be like a gambler and have high luck and charisma and have to beat every person at caravan and at least challenge every trader they see at least once and also get kicked out of every casino. Do you understand caravan? Any tips?

Yes I do.

Somewhat intensive rules:

I always keep at least one suite out of my playing deck, that way it doesn't get over-saturated, and I have plenty of same-suite cards to change direction with. However, DO add a healthy dose of face cards, very useful.

I also always start my stacks with low numbers, or any that I don't plan on using, because many NPC's like to spend all of their Jacks on you in the beginning. Use cannon fodder cards.

I would say use Kings on the enemy to make them go bust. When an NPC goes bust, they rarely use a Jack on themselves, instead opting to scrap their deck, making them start over with that one.

Happy playing! Luck hardly has anything to do with it, which is why it isn't allowed in casinos. And after that if you're wondering if it's really worth it, last time I played No-Bark, he put down over 3000 caps.
