| I personally use two of these mods, Frontier Home and Classic Adobe Buildings in Mojave. I am not a specialist of the two first Fallout, but I've heared about Shady Sands, the capital city of the New California Republic. Its architecture is very distinctive and it associates NCR with sandcrete buildings. Other towns are builded with the same material though, sandcrete is recurrent in the first episodes of the series. Superpele/Brayduck's mod, Classic Adobe Buildings in Mojave, introduces different types of sandcrete structures: hispanic/colonial and bungalow syles. The first is simillar to the Sierra Madre Casino while the second is only seen in the two first Fallout. Nevada was a part of Alta California during later Spanish colonization, so such a type of hispanic architecture is well designed. Moreover I very enjoy the reference to the artistic roots of Fallout. In my opinion, sandcrete architecture adds lots to the game. Now I cannot imagine New Vegas without it! |

| @Prosp3ro This picture came from the first Fallout, when Shady sands was just a village. And it's made with sandcrete ! (In fallout 2 too) - From the ending of Fallout 1:

| This works really well since Shady Sand's houses were made up of Sandcrete back then and maybe even today.

| @OfficerDornanFett @Prosp3ro @Garska nice discussion about the previous fallouts abd yes that's why i made this list, it's so fallout doesn't lose progress, if what? roughly 80 years before fallout new vegas they can build new i specify 'new', buildings out of easy enough to make materials, why are these buildings not plentiful in the mojave, how are there not whole settlements built post-war by survivors, little towns of sandcrete and scrap, honestly i'd be so happy to see a settlement in the new fallouts built from sandcrete, the lack of it in new vegas almost felt like the wasteland had degraded lost progress they rebuilt some kind of place to stay and boom it's not there... 2281 and no one can build a house? _________________ Banner and Avatar made by Star, AKA: Wergon - '' Star's Workshop'' “If you can't blow them away with your brilliance, Baffle them with your bullshit.” |

| @Kaiser Atlas I was thinking the same about Fallout 3. How people can still live like the year after nuclear war 200 years after ? It's the same in Fallout 4, like if everybody forgot about rebuilding the world. These mods add what was missing in Bethesda's Fallout. _________________ |

| @Garska in fallout 3's defense it was densely populated city scape, and from my knowledge not very much sand around there right? which is a big part of making sandcrete is it not EDIT: i think one of the lead writers wanted the fallout universe to just keep ending in apocalyptic events, so there'd never be any real progress in the fallout universe, just catastrophe after catastrophe with the human race never learning, the problem with that is it means no lore progression, and Sandcrete buildings are definitely a sign of progression in a wasteland of rubble and scrap _________________ Banner and Avatar made by Star, AKA: Wergon - '' Star's Workshop'' “If you can't blow them away with your brilliance, Baffle them with your bullshit.” |

| @Kaiser Atlas
Yet you can see a clear cultural progression at the end of Fallout 2.
There are places like Broken Hills, san francisco, the NCR and vault city, that totally shows that most people actually does something and rebuild things. Even places like New Reno felt alive and growing. We all know that Bethesda craps on the lore everytime they put another number on the franchise's name, but there's a clear intention to keep the world on that state of neverending wastes... _________________ |

| @nimlouth exactly, while yes fallout is about the apocalyptic wasteland, a franchise that has no progression whether it's because of a company shitting on it, or poor writing. then it is just a bad RPG *cough* fallout 4 *cough* it was a good game just not a good fallout _________________ Banner and Avatar made by Star, AKA: Wergon - '' Star's Workshop'' “If you can't blow them away with your brilliance, Baffle them with your bullshit.” |

| @"Kaiser Atlas" Gladly we have full modding support for their games, so (logical) things like sandcrete structures can be added to the game... But still, sometimes I just wonder: Why Bethesda, WHY?!
Some design choices like FO4's dialogue or FO3's non-cannon BoS just don't make sense for me xd
At this point, Bethesda should focus on TES games and let obsidian do the Fallout franchise, using their engine ofc.

| @nimlouth well that village Salnef or what ever it was was put up for public release so that other people could do what they like to it, says so in the download description, (i think he gave up on it) _________________ Banner and Avatar made by Star, AKA: Wergon - '' Star's Workshop'' “If you can't blow them away with your brilliance, Baffle them with your bullshit.” |

| The sandcrete seems very NCR-esq. Mostly becuase it is shown as the main building material for shady sands in Fallout 1 and 2. The NCR is always crititized for being imperialistic and set on rapid expansion. So it only makes sense that an expanding nation would carry its architecture with it. Just how you can see colonial buildings in India, Africa, South America and much of the East Coast of the US. I think it adds a great touch how the NCR would build in a manner that they are used to. It also makes sense given that the NCR has been at war in the Mojave for a while, giving them plenty of time to expand and rebuild ruined towns like this. I also enjoy the adobe style, given that it is not only the same material my house IRL is made out of. So its sort of funny that I have an emotional connection to this lol. I like to use these mods in my games. _________________ swiggitty swooty I'm coming for that booty -George Washington |

| The thing with Fallout is that the game is supposed to present how new civilizations have arisen from the wastes of an atomic war. I love these mods personally because they add a nice charm to the game. Besides having that old west feeling, it also is fairly nostalgic since this building style is prominent in 1 and 2. I wish Obsidian had the time to make buildings sandcrete, because it'd make more sense (especially for NCR controlled settlements or bases). _________________ - PC SPECS:
