| Here is a mod I am working on. Its goal is to revamp Camp Forlorn Hope and other NCR positions and make them more like an actually military camp or FOB, and not a few tents. I do aim to keep this mod VERY lore friendly and all within reason, so no skimpy assassins or massive vertibird bases. The mod adds patrols, lore, NPCs and much more. My game is very modded, so some characters and textures may appear different for you. Please tell me what you think and provide suggestions. EDIT: I am planning on using some of Jokarine's public assets on the nexus so I hope it can add some substance to the mod. This is all WIP so it will get better - [spoiler]:
Update: Thanks for all the support GUNNERS. This community is really supportive of many aspects of modding. And thank you for that. So the project is not dead. Camp Forlorn Hope is pretty solid right now. Just some patrol packages to do and some little details. I have been doing some research into quest making and I am thinking about adding a little mission to kill some legionaries. I have been working NCR Camp in Primm to add lore (aka notes), patrols, npcs and a vendor. This area was interesting to work with. I have never seen any mods that add more NCR to that part of the city. Here are some screenshots of this location. One bonus shot of the military funeral and CFH. | This looks very interesting. Really brings those war zone vibes with the artillery guns, craters, and such. You could try to make some of the all ready existing places of the camp look more detailed as a lot of the vanilla game tents are bare or completely empty. Though according to the lore the camp was really run down and low on basically everything. So it might be difficult to find that mix of "just enough" clutter.
Anyways, I for one think this would be a great addition to the game and hope you have a lot of fun and luck creating this mod! |

There were boxes the supplies came in.. crates and such, empty cans and such could be used to help fill up the areas. Magazines as well to help keep them entertained. Likely traded among the troops. Those are a couple of ideas if that was an issue. I doubt it as the OP likely has a very vivid and detailed plan for the project _________________ |

| Maybe just for environmental storytelling and small details, you could add things like a table with some cards on it, cigarettes and an ashtray. Just for small details. Maybe even splattered blood on it But great work so far, i love faction overhauls. This mixed with some of Drags mods could be great |

Considering the environment that they would be in and the nature of the group, there would likely be many items scavenged from the surrounding areas. Magazines is one such example. You could even use what could be imagined from the nearby areas. Neon signs, tables, benches and anything else that they might want. My thoughts is anything they didn't have, they would get from around them. This is even done now with troops in the field and have been done for countless centuries. So if you have any shortage or want to show this.. perhaps use alternate equipment to cover for the missing or shorted equipment. My thought was to make it more obvious between actual military equipment and civilian equipment when you develop your mod. So for example barracks,officers offices etc, likely will be pure military while other areas like entertainment, PX, Officers tents, etc would be hybrid The above comment about mixing it with some of Drags mods.. perhaps this might be a great thing. I don't think you would have to add those assets to the game. Use "ismodloaded" (I believe the command is) and have it check to see if someone installed selected mods where you could take and add some added equipment or features for fun. You could even have a bit more fun and add some Storm Trooper armor on a crate in an equipment area for example.. without that mod installed it wouldn't be there. If installed it is added. Not sure how to make the rubber hit the road however so sorry for that. This would also mean you now have NVSE as a requirement but most have that installed anyway. (I believe so, I believe ismodloaded command is part of NVSE) I am stretching beyond my level right now so if I am inaccurate then please forgive me.) Just ideas as you work on this. | @ritualclarity I never really though about scripting for the mod! Good idea! I am a painful modding noob and my modding skills is stuck in the drag and drop/simple patrol packages stage. But having some kind of scripted content would allow for a larger range of interesting/quality experiences. In regards to the scavenged materials for the camp, You have a point that at the end of the day, the NCR Army is mostly made up of conscripts from a post apocalyptic world. And they are from a nation that was build from the wreckage of an even older one. So by that logic, its only logical that the soldiers would be used to scavenging the old world, even if the NCR is more developed! Yes, that was my thought. Of course not to be done right away. I'd suggest that you get your main content and such squared away first. There are tutorials and many mod authors that might be able to help with that scripting you will need to do for my suggestion. Then you could expand the content. Who knows, you might decide that what you have developed and the content that you created might be perfect as it is an no need to expand as I commented. Sometimes less is more. _________________ |

| looks good it will look better since i have drags ncr overhaul on gun and seeing the ncr being improved is really amazing hope to see it finished |

| @HectorSuarezking I have been working on this mod during the days and I can assure you that it is not abandoned. I added several pictures of Primm this morning. Of course the problem is that I have a deadline to release this prior to leaving for school in late august. So I aim to release it before then. I will be constantly updating on the progress of this mod, and working out the kinks before release. I'm not a fan of releasing pre-pre-pre alphas with a fraction of the content.
