Does anyone use this mod, and if so would you recommend it?

It was released this year, and already have quite renown for a fresh mod. It sounds intresting, i like that it sounsd pretty hardcore, and if you want my attention, just put in the description, you wont make it. Probably won't, nonetheless, i love a challenge when it doesn't go over the top unreal in lore standards. Definitly gona give a try

i havent tried it yet either but i plan to soon. Im currently playing a TTW playthrough, but after that im planning on checking it out! I love hardcore, grinding experiences and this one sounds pretty tough!

The mod sounds very interesting with how it changes the outcome of the new vegas ending and the atmosphere, downloading it at the moment cant wait to play it.

Can you let us know how it is? Like the guys above said the survival aspect sounds cool, however, it removes the factions and some creatures so I'm not sure.

Have just played up to almost two hours and am loving the mod, everything is made more difficult with starting off with 40 to 50 weight capacity and most attacks killing you in four or more hits plus non hostile NPC's are nowhere to be found and the only way to get items is scavenge or kill NPC's for their weapons. In this mod you actually feel like a person just trying to survive instead of some invincible courier charging into crowds of enemies without any difficulty.

So far I haven't found any creatures but I have found a collection of cannibals, some of them just look like normal raiders but I have found some that wear rundown ranger and NCR armour so I'm assuming you will find remnants of all the factions.

i tried it...it's simply Amazing.

I think this is more or less how a Desert Nuclear Wasteland should be like...
Beware though...it punishes you...a Lot!
And if you don't pay attention to your surroundings...you're gonna die...a LOT!!

However i just think it could be better in some parts...
Example: instead of completely annihilating all the NPC and factions they could remain where they were originally so you still have to go around for various reasons and keep settlements a little more alive...and taking place 20 years after the original plot was a bit unnecessary since the Courier himself was actually a random bystander who had to deliver something and simply was noticed for his skills on the field.

So, all the time spent overhauling everything in the game  could have been sopent doing a cooler thing actually: Overhaul the City area to actually resemble more the actual Las Vegas both in looks and most importantly size. and making it a worldspace of its own where The Strip is fully advanced and mostly intact thanks to Mr House's Shielding during the Great War while the rest is actually  a total wreck...with only Freeside, North Vegas and Westside ( and the area around MCCarran Airport) the settled parts while the rest could be a lawless zone where the new factions he made could roam and try to survive.

If you notice in fact the Fallout map is an extremely reduced version of the actual zone it depicted.

So, in the end...his results could be achieved in a much easier way.

It's what FNV should have been in the first place. As many people have said before me, You will die. A lot. And you will be tempted to use console commands and trust me, it sucks all of the tension and fun out of it if you do. Don't treat this mode like you would the vanilla game.

Totally worth a try.Makes you feel like you are playing a whole new game as many usual functions of Fnv (like trading or even talking to other people ) were just left out.I already made serval playthroughs of dust and it was very interseting.Although I had to stop every time I reached goodsprings/searchlight ranger station as all those graet modded things just lay around there and I always grab all of it.So I would recommend to avoid using all those cheat containers as they just destroy immersion.

I have to add that it is not perfect,for example I had to go into the Geck and change the one or the other thing to make it a little bit more interesting and more rewarding to find a reliable weapon/ammo for it..

Tried this one today, and man it is different.

I'm still relatively new to fallout, and being introduced to this makes it so much harder for me, had to take a vantage point in Primm in order to wipe a whole pack of cannibals. xd

This makes hardcore mode look like a baby with a gun

It wasn't exactly my cup of tea, but it is a very well made mod, for sure. It will have you running for your life, or simply mauled by dogs before you get the chance to run depending on location. I died in the first 4 minutes with it on (2X in a row lol), but for the small playthrough I did with it on it was extremely immersive. It is truly a survival challenge if you like desperation, despair and dying trying to manage with next to nothing you're accustomed to.

EDIT: Plus there are a few add-ons I've seen popping up on Nexus, I believe from other authors just offering a few options to play with while using Dust. Might be worth looking into for anyone interested in a playthrough.

When I first saw fallout 3 I thought it was going to be like dust. It wasn't but it sure was still fun. I would recommend it it is very fun.

This is my favourite mod for NV. After 10 mins of playing, I knew this mod is awesome. I recommend the mod to anyone, who wants a more difficult and more apocalyptic Mojave.

This with zombie apocalypse would be perfect.

Too chaotic,enemies get distracted by them,you don't have that much ammo to shoot them etc.
Also there is a noticeable performance hit on lower systems.

I havent personally seen it myself but Ive seen some gameplay on it. It looks very promising to say the least, Its a "what if" situation. What happens after you beat the game of NV basically a giant dust storm and the tunnelers invade new vegas and it becomes extreme survival. Looks and sounds fun to me!

Here is my opinion on this.

The Dust has a dark world, some thing like a apocalypse after a apocalypse.
Nothing for me but some other people like it. You have a very low weight limit (40) get only crap guns with low health and only few shots,
You and your enemies have low health and you die every few minutes.
You don´t became godlike, here say the Dust the truth.
Why it´s pain in the ass? Because you die to much, crap gun with low ammo low med and the enemies shoot like a gunrunner. Wo would win you think? Ok the guy´s shot like shit or a very drunken gunrunner, but they hit you... some day but hit. In FNV no problem because you have a lot HP and a lot of Meds and because this normal for the original gameplay. The mod just make you weaker, too weak to enjoy or just survive the game. Just a lot of pain in the ass.
