I Stopped play Fallout awhile ago because i hit the mods limit which is 255
i knew there is a way to fix it but i'm too lazy about it,so i stop playing.
recently i want to come back to play, but i cant find the tutorial anymore.
can someone tell me how to have more than 255 mods limit?

You can't, it's hardcoded in the engine.
Either you remove some of the 'useless' mods (mods that doesn't do much).
Or you merge them doing it either manually or using merge plugin mod.
I'd recommend the software merge plugin.

At least it's better than 144, which is what NV is stuck at. Like @mikeee1111 said, making a merged patch would be your best bet.

I also want to point out that they have to be 255 plugins, as in esp/esm files. Texture mods and replacers shouldn't add to the load order.

@cyber_funk NV's limit is 144? I always thought it was 236 before it started being really unstable. I mean I have 230 esps loaded right now and my game runs fine except maybe the occasional crash after a few hours.

It's 255 for New Vegas.
And even cyber_funk said that textures mods and replacers shouldn't add to the load order, it is true but keep in mind that if you have too much of those, your game could be really slow or even crash, except if you have a monster model 3777 from the year 3212 with a mega Nvidia GTX 5080 ti double X video card.

Jokes asides, even with a good computer, loading times will be slower, the game overall could also be slower.
So always be sure to keep that in mind.

I believe it's 144 for New Vegas and 255 for Skyrim, I could be wrong though TongueTril

@kanerill There isn't much you can do except delete some mods or merge them. I had about 200 plugins when I decided to remove mods I didn't use anymore and I realise I didn't need about 30 mods I had. I'm sure that you'll realise you have mods you don't really need anymore.
