Hi everyone,

I can't get NVSE to work. I installed it in the right directory and I'm using the newest version(5.0b2). The problem is that it just won't load a new game. I get into the starting menu, I start a new game and I get the intro movie. But then I get an infinite loading screen. I know it's a problem with NVSE because as soon as I remove it, my game works just fine. I also use the 4gb patch. It doesn't matter if mods are loaded or not. I have windows 10 and running the game in compatibility mode doesn't help either.

Try using that if you aren't already.

I've never had an issue with NVSE so I don't understand the issue. However I use NVSE 5 Beta 3 as it required by some mods. Use that instead, no reason to use an older version.

1)Okay next idea. What are your system specs?

3)Could be a memory issue. I know nvse has memory patches in it.

4)Also could be missing drivers. Might wanna try a reinstall too(Probably already tried though)

Honestly my first guess would be a mod however you mentioned its no mod conflict.

5)Also try using LOOT to clean your load order.

Nvidia gtx 980
8gb ram
Intel Core i5-4460

Tell me if you need something else.

enboost doesn't change anything with my problem.

I reinstalled my drivers when the problem first appeared.

I also tried running the game with only the new vegas esp loaded. No luck.

And I forgot to mention, when I try to load a older save or exit the game per main menu, it crashes.

Are you using a fully patched steam version of the game?

Try installing both the lutana and JIP plugins (shouldn't be the cause of an infinite loading screen, but could cause issues if mods or scripts that require them cannot locate them)
Also, is the issue related to a particular save? Have you tried loading a different save or starting a new game? It may be a particular cell you're loading causing the issue here, I used to get this issue a lot in and around Freeside

Yeah nvse has checks for if it's a steam version or not. If it isn't you can buy the ultimate edition on g2a for like $7

I have the ultimate edition for steam, up to date. The issue with the infinite loading screen appears when I try to start a new game. If I try to load an older save the game just crashes. Installing those plugins unfortunately didnt help either.

Try removing all NVSE files and reinstalling.
I realise you've probably done this but it sounds more like an issue with an NVSE related file. If you can load the game without NVSE then that's almost certainly the issue. You are definitely installing the right direction? NVSE goes in the directory and not the data folder.

It has to be a problem with nvse and yes, I installed it in the right directory. Can't fix it so I'll just play something else then. But still, thanks a lot for your time and help q:

Download the beta (beta version 5.0b3) then it should works, i had problems with the previous version because some mods depends on 5.0b3.
Even though it says it is a beta, you should not have to worry about it, i have not had any problems with it.

@"21Jumper" Do you have any mods installed, or is your game clean aside from having NVSE?

Are you using NVAC?

I tried it with mods, vanilla with all offical dlc's and completly vanilla with only the new vegas esp loaded. Everytime it's the script extender that breakes my game. If I start a new game without NVSE everything works fine. As soon as I enable NVSE the new game I just started doesn't work anymore, and if I start a new game with NVSE enabled I get a infinite loading screen after the intro movie.

As I said, I tried playing the game with and without mods, that includes NVAC.

It could be an issue with an outdated 4gb patched? Just a guess. My suggestion is to remove all your mods (if you have them) delete NVSE and reinstall the game. Then install 4gb, NVSE and all the mods you use. It know its a pain in the butt, but sometimes its the only way. Good luck and I hope this helps.
