| My first Fallout game was 3(heard it's the worst). My favorite game of all time is of course FNV. So I guess I am bias of the New gen fallout. Am I missing out by not playing 1/2 and would I be able to appreciate it? |

| Honestly I was really sceptical about the originals, and it's true that the gameplay really is dated, to the point where it makes many things tedious and irritating BUT I personally feel the story makes up for that, especially with 2. Fallout 1 is a pretty short game, but 2 is pretty much a 2D NV scope-wise. Honestly I'd advise you to just try them out - the unofficial patches and hi-res mods help, too. |

| Off topic but I must say Fallout 3 was not the worst Fallout, that's what you've heard from all the Bethesda haters who would also claim anything made by Beth is terrible, when without Beth Fallout wouldn't even be 3D.
The Originals were amazing RPGs imo, as I loved how in the first Fallout you could side with the Master and destroy your own vault which was pretty much what you were trying to save the entire game. The atmosphere was amazing and that was the only Fallout ending that actually creeped me out a little. Fallout 2 I really never got to play that much but I heard it was great.
Between the newer Fallout titles and the older ones I'd give it to the newer ones though, only because it feels more like you are in the metaphorical shoes of your character, since it's in the Elder Scrolls engines (Creation, Gamebryo).
I wish all the Fallout games were in the creation engine, as they are all great imo and will live on to become classics. Not many franchises can keep consistent with great games but Fallout has managed to with the exception of Fallout: BoS. |

| You should at least try them, in my opinion Fallout 2 is the best of it's kind and it's the first Fallout I ever played. The nuclear wasteland feeling is present, lore is great and gameplay is top 2D RPG.
I'd say it's much better game as a whole than Fallout 3 or New Vegas, but that's just me. Even if they are 2 completely different games in the same franchise. _________________ Walking down an unknown road |

| Thanks for the feedback. I will probably buy them on sale some time. And yeah 3 is much nostalgia for me(First bethesda game). Speaking of nostalgia I need to get oblivion some time haha.
@Corvo Maybe we'll get a remake someday, we can only hope.
@c4in No matter what I probably won't like a game more than NV, for the roleplay alone. There can be better games but Ill always come back to NV.
@nocthesis They have mods? LOL |

| @EmiliaTan Somehow I enjoy older games more than new . I'm more of a old school gamer, but New Vegas is a really good game and one of the best I ever played (especially with mods)! _________________ Walking down an unknown road |

| @"EmiliaTan" Ye, I mean it's limited of course, but there have been some impressive works done using the classic engine by modders. Have you heard of Fallout 1.5? Never played it myself but it's supposed to be good. |

| Fallout 2 is probably the only game that has ever made me laugh as much as it has. One of my favorite games on that alone. Other than that it's a great game in general. I also find it strange that I like it so much considering I usually can't stand isometric games. _________________ - My Mods:

@Sentinel Yeah I've heard quite a few times that it has good comedy. |

| Fallout 2 is one of my favorite games of all time, if not my favorite game absolutely. As stated the humor is on point, but the original writing is absolutely top in every other aspect (though that does result in some game-play flow issues): Serious when it wants to be, goofy when it wants to be, even heartbreaking at times. With Killaps restoration patch there's even more to do than in the original game and most of the content is a delight and adds a lot (there is one new location that adds some stuff lore wise, but is otherwise a bit boring).
Oh fallout 1 as well? Yeah, its alright. _________________ Be wary, or become a lonely boy. |

| I think they were 2 of the best CRPGs ever made, and I've played a ton of CRPGs. They had their own unique roleplaying system I really liked as well as a really interesting setting and atmosphere.
It's a shame they don't really make games like them anymore, unless you count NV but that was nearly 7 years ago. |

| @Screw4ff It's fun to mess around with low Intelligence character in Fallout 2, since s/he really acts that way too. Unlike FO3 or NV the character speaks normally and NPCs acts the same with few exceptions. |
