now I have managed to fix this problem twice but don't remember what I did:(

the problem came back when I verified cache with steam..

This problem probally stems from windows 8 or 8.1..

Now with a clean install the game won't even start.. It won't make an fallout ini

I did back up my ini files & made with the necessary changes..

I try to add the ini & use the remove gfwl program..

now my game does start but I ctd...

I really don't remember what I did before to get this game working

any ideas?

Hey vet, i just fixed my FO3 yesterday. This is what fixed it for me. My FO3 is really modded, so i hope this helps. Update GFWL. Yes, FOSE disables it when you use it, but it fixed it for me. Before, it wouldn't start and crash. Then i updated and it worked! i now have WMK, FWE, MMM, all in one stable game. Hopefully you will make some new FO3 vids if you get it working

Is it crashing at make when you want to make a new game? I recently had this problem.

Yeah I gave up on fo3 due to it freezing every five minutes now. I don't know why it, it was working fine the first week I had it, and I never changed the mods I used.

Fallout 3 has some compatibility problems with windows 7-8 i have a topic regarding something similar to your guy's problems.
