| Oh boy, oh boy oh boy. Great movie, we can discuss it here.
My Comments:
Vader
OH
MY
GOD
BEAUTIFUL
I swear I've played that exact scene in my head so many times. I was in tears with the rebel pounding on the door with the Vader massacre in the background. I don't care significantly much for the rest of the movie (though I did like it) but Vader...wow. _________________ "Sheogorath is already inside each of us. You have already lost." |

| The movie was great! A bit wonky in places, but several times better than TFA. Gareth Edwards can do scale like no other director, but I guess that characters will never be his strong suit. The movie itself started a bit slow, but holy cow, that last act!
But not that it matters that much in a war movie! Chirrut (Donnie Yen) was my favorite and I was very touched by his sacrifice. Director Krennic (Ben Mendelsohn) was fun to watch as this overachieving Imperial officer that gets constantly under-appreciated.
But what the hell was up with that CGI Tarkin? I cringed a little when he showed up. I get that Peter Cushing has been been dead for a while and Tarkin's kind of important for Death Star, but they could've simply not show him. (Disclaimer - the CGI wasn't exactly terrible, but it was very noticeable in scenes with other actors). Bu then again I loved Leia's cameo, so what do I know.
And Vader was THE BOSS. They used him very little, but to what effect! (as SpaceLord21 said)
Watch as soon as you can and if you're a fan, you'll love it. |

| Walked out feeling like a kid. It's a film like this that put the war in Star Wars the best way it can, for the series!
Loved every Easter Egg they included! The Hammerhead basically putting much of kortor into cannon, and the Ghost taking flight with the Rebel feet.
The only faults were the lack of character development. Walking out, all I could recall by name were K2, Krennic, and Jyn. Saw Gerrara, felt awful throughout the whole film honestly, and I wish his camera time was spent on the other characters. =/
However the personalities of some of the cast were very memorable!
K2's sarcastic humor had most of the audience laughing. Krennic's character made for a great villain, to the point you felt a little sympathetic when Tarkain decided to vaporize him.
Also that ending was straight out of a horror film. When that one poor rebel got thrown up to the ceiling and slashed into two by Vadar's blade, while the other was pleading for someone to grab the message as he knows he's about to be killed, had me anxious to see it end.
Terrific film for any person to see, with a number of Easter eggs for long time fans. The first hour is meh, but the rest of the adventure will get better every time you watch it! =) _________________ “We can only see a short distance ahead, but we can see plenty there that needs to be done.” - Alan Turning

| I liked it a lot. It had an amazing nostalgic vibe to some of the scenes, and ultimately brought back all that Episode VII couldn't.
I think Rogue One went right with what Suicide Squad got wrong. SS targeted their audience as comic book nerds and had the new Joker up in all the marketing for him only to not show up a whole lot in the movie, while Rogue One did target Star Wars fans, but also newcomers and the New Generation, and left Vader's appearance a surprise.
I liked Rogue One, but I'm sad we wont necessarily see another like it, as Jyn's story has ended and I doubt any of the main trilogies stories will walk in Rogue One's footsteps. |

| The movie was dope. Just one thing that stood out as a ??? moment. Galen Urso created the Death Star is that right? Then how come in Attack of the Clones the Geonosians are the ones who develop it. Maybe i am wrong maybe Galen only built it from the schematics but then the empire wouldnt of needed him at all
other than that one of the best SW movies ever |

| I thought it was way better than The Force Awakens, and that was pretty good. The ending for Rouge One was just fantastic. |

other than that one of the best SW movies ever If my understanding is correct, the Republic started building it during the Clone Wars in an attempt to finish construction before the Separatists finish it themselves. Galen Erso also developed the weapon that's utilized, and not the station itself. _________________ |

Galen Erso also developed the weapon that's utilized, and not the station itself. Aha that makes more sense |

I think the character development we received was enough for what the movie was, because in the end, Rogue One is a war movie that sets up Episode IV. The story lets us know just enough about them for us to care. Saw Gerrera in his scene with Jyn went through a roller coaster of emotions in that small amount of time. He's a battered and broken man, and he served his purpose in the film. I do, however, wish we could have gotten more Chirrut and Baze screen time. _________________ |

| :Edit: I did not notice this topic even existed so this comment was made to work as an whole new topic. I will now delete those lines that aren't needed anymore and please excuse me if I missed any. Its a bit like a review though.
So I just saw Rogue One and it was pretty good in my opinion. I slept a little but it had a lot of fun moments. It had a few dumb moments aswell, but I guess no movie is perfect.
I did see it in 3d and oh boy was that a mistake. I never was a fan of 3d because of my glasses yet the place I usually watch rarely has any other option. But hell in this one it was inconvenient.
Well I can probably ramble about 3d a little bit now. First of all, 3d glasses make your vision a bit darker, and if the movie is not set to a higher brightness option you may not see shit in some scenes. Second, This movie really liked to focus or you can call it depth of field. So everytime it focussed on an object everything else became so blurry that light shafts were really annoying. Third(ly) There also was a problem that if someone pointed his arm or anything else that was facing to the viewer it would make it nearly impossible for the viewer to look at the rest of the picture. The same happened if someone walked from the left to the right where you could barely follow the characters.
So this is the last time I am booking a movie to a 3d theater.
Now for the movie again. I liked it, enough.
It had some pretty funny parts and it wasn't affraid to take risks. Sometimes they showed us a concept that was never used again, for example Savenger rebels that like to take certain crystals and do guarrilla(y) stuff. That was forgotten by everyone exept me 1 minute later. Also this one robot fellar named something starting with a K was a lot more trained in fighting and taking bullets than any ordinary droid. That could just have been reprogramming and modding but I still noticed that. Oh and the stormtroopers couldn't aim for shit again which was nice.
A bit later in the movie there was this huge nearly never ending scene of rebels trying to survive, get in some shield and people trying to turn off said shield. In this moment I got a bit bored and sleepy and may have been thinking about how late the movie would end that resulted in someone dying (in the movie) and I having no idea what just happened the last five minutes. I may have fallen asleep or atleast I was daydreaming. Because of this I most probably have to rewatch it and don't really know all the side stuff that was happening in the movie.
Now I shall ramble about the story.
Everyone pretty much died in the end which made my point about not knowing what happened before their death a bit unimportant. They sacrificed themselves so Episode IV could be made. A shame they could not live to stop George Lucas from putting a bunch of CGI garbage into it. I kind of wished that darth vaders fucking shit up scene would be the ending for dramatic effect and would make it more fun for fans to understand it is the beginning of Episode IV, But I guess leyla, leya, leigha, something with name was nice too.
I do recommend people to see it and find it an overall enjoyable experience. _________________ "You're never too young to have a Vietnam flashback" -Julius Caesar - Q: Can you teach me how to rig? - A: Perhaps this will help:

| A bit late to the party, but my thoughts can sadly be summed up with 'beautiful, action packed, and forgettable.'
I really liked it at the time, and there where some moments of interest that endured, but it didn't grab me and keep hold the same way the Trilogy (Prequel, OT, or TFA) did. A few days later I was drifting from the fandom again, instead of the usual consuming anything new and Star Wars shaped. The closest thing I can liken it to is a feature-length live-action Rebels season finale. Fun, something to look forwards to, but it was never going to linger in my thoughts for long. |
