Hi,

Has anyone had any luck with merging mod in FO4. I just can't seem to get some that have a ton of esp's to merge. For instance 2 that I would like to merge are the DKS-501 with scope and sounds merged to 1 esp instead of 3 and another is wasteland ordnance which is like 7 or 8 esp's. Same for craftable workbenches etc.

I have watched a few tutorials like this one

and it seems easy enough. Except none of these mods seem to work. I'm wondering if maybe the mods I am picking are just not mergeable or maybe its still too early to have good mod merging.

I have also tried merge plugins which seems to work great for me in skyrim, fo3/fonv and oblivion but in fo4 not so much.

If anyone has some advice or a better tutorial, I would love to get some of these mutli esp mods down to a single.

Might be that the plugins your trying to merge are badly made as fo4 is quite young compared to the other games , so there might be some bad errors in em

are you using merged plugins standalone? It now supports FO4

It is my experience and suggestion that one should not merge weapon mods, as they are some of the more complicated mods out there and can have some very specific and sometimes STRANGE dependencies that create an additional layer of complexity. Also I would ask are you at the 255 limit? Or are you combining for the sake of doing so...or if you believe there is a significant gain in load time or speed in general...I can say for my game load at least...there isn't any noticeable gain or benefit.

I don't profess to be any sort of expert on FO4 or merging mods...or any expert in anything really, I'm just sharing my perception of what I've experienced...I could be way off base.

As a practice...I have only combined mods that have dependencies that are the same and are also core files (official expansions or something I will never not have loaded) I also keep a separate folder of the original esps that I have combined in a subfolder that is named the same as the combined esp that is now in my game...this might be excessive but...at least I have duplicate originals.
I hope this helps...or at least doesn't further hurt your situation

I have tried MP standalone and xedit.

And I am definitely guilty of hitting the 255 limit in just about every beth game. Just too many weapons and armor I want in my games. Its a bad habit.

And I think you are right, since they are weapon or armor mods they seem to be the challenge.
