hm... actualy i like all the six movies seen in its whole thing. but the newer ones could have ben done better, i agree on that. to tell the story better they maybe should have made 4 instead of 3 movies because many things only happens randomly in the 3 movies. one of the biggest dissapointments for me was that we did see darth vader ( in his suit ) for maybe 3 minutes. that could have made better ( like i mentioned with 4 instead of 3 movies ). what i realy like was evan mcgregor as obiwan, samuel jackson as master windu and natalie portman was a good amidala. Hayden Christensen was also not that bad but i am sure he can better if they would have let him.
i dont think that disney is that bad making the new sw movie. they know what they do and remember the marvel stuff is also produced side by side with disney and they are not bad at all. also we have not seen anything yet then a short trailer so its no need to say they will ruin it. i am looking foreward to see it with my brother this christmas.

I can understand Disney's decision to a degree. I think by doing away with the Expanded Universe, the new movies have a lot more room for creativity, rather than making sure the story fits into the established lore.
Of course, its could also be a cash grab move to make the fans buy a whole bunch of expanded universe stuff all over again.
A little from column A, a little from column B.

The prequels had their bright points for sure. The incredible soundtracks, Ewan McGregor and Liam Neeson were great, and Darth Maul was an incredible villain who redefined what a lightsaber battle could be. Episode 3 had some seriously tragic moments like 'Order 66' and the duel between Anakin and Obi-wan was fantastic.
But George Lucas is a terrible director IMO, who fails at getting even a decent performance out of most of his actors. Look at the child who played Anakin in Episode 1. People called him Mannequin Skywalker on the set because he was so awful. And before people say 'he was just a kid!' there are tons of amazing child actors, like in The Sixth Sense. On the other end of the spectrum you have the terribly over-the-top Emperor in Episode 3, who was like something out of a Saturday Night Live parody.
And then there are horrendous characters like Jar Jara Binks, laughably racist caricatures with some of the aliens, the incredibly awful dialogue (especially in E2... sand anyone?) at points and the ridiculous emphasis on special effects. These are prequels and yet they look like they took place thousands of years after the original 3 films. That was a huge flaw, IMO.
Just my opinion, but yeah I think George dropped the ball hard on those movies. I know some people love all three prequels and hey, that's perfectly okay. But they aren't worthy of carrying the original trilogy's bags as far as I'm concerned.

I just don't like the prequels at all besides the visuals. Almost eveything in the prequels was a bit disappointing and made me think about what could have been. The dialogue between characters is just not good at all.

oh yeah, leam neeson and darth maul were awesome. jarjar bings is indeed a very anoying character, i totaly forget him until now you mentioned him those special effects are nice when it comes to space ships and if somethig happens in the background but they should have work more with real actors in costumes instead of animated characters. from what i know the new movies will have more real characters then animated characters and i think its a good thing... just like in the original movies.

Vixen, what you said about looking like it took place after the original trilogy I don't quite agree with. I feel that it's more a matter of setting (republic capital vs. outer rim desert planet) technology will originate where things are more built up, and slowly spread from there.

I really like the prequels, but I have to admit that they are bad, especially the EP II.

I'm little sad of Episode 7, since it's not following the comic storyline. I went on the star wars wiki and read what happened episode 6. Some of the things actually are interesting I wanted to see it in the movies. But since they announced it's going to be their own storyline it might be good. But I still wanted to see the expanded universe.

I agree with this. Hayden did an all right job, but I wished he could have been allowed to portray the developing Vader as he wanted to. I felt he had a better grasp on who Vader was than Lucas at that point.

Looking back, I really wish there was more of the clone wars story arcs. I honestly feel like thier is this void Rebels hasn't filled yet. I understand that in the begining that the clone wars TV series didnt start off strong either and that it need a few years to evolve, but for rebels I really dont want to wait that long for a similiar evolution. I will say that the last episode did some really neat thnigs and I hope we keep getting more serious tones with the next episode.
