Hey everyone, I'm new to this site and was wondering if someone could show me the ropes. There was a mod I wanted but it says I need to be promoted. How does that work? How do I view mods in general. Don't understand much but I want to be an active member in this community.

That is the trick. Be active and all other issues will resolve themselves.

The regular mods can be viewed by any member and used. I believe they are pretty well supported if not by the actual author but by the many users. Use those for a bit enjoy and get a general idea of what is offered. Pop over to the introduction thread and Say hello (create a thread) talk to some of the others that are new on that forum and get to know some people there as well as anywhere else that has interesting things to discuss. Keep it clean and as you can see you will easily meet any requirements to be promoted. Then you will be able to see the mods for that level of membership

An other tip is you can post some of the photos of your game play... particularly any photos of your use of mods here in appreciation of those that created the mod. just be sure to list the mods present in the screen capture. There are some contest going on at various times for screen captures as well. Post there.

AS you can see it is easy to be active and create a post count. Keep on enjoying yourself and having discussions with member here.Pop into the chat once in a while and enjoy that as well and before you know it you will have access to all the hidden mods... and then be able to post about those as well ...

Welcome friend. If you stay active on GUN and follow the rules (take a short moment to read) you will be promoted in no time . The colonial state permits you to see the hidden mod section.

Welcome friend! As others said, stay active, and be a nice human being. I registered a bit more than a year ago, but the "reputation system" scared me away. Not so long ago I came back, and oh boy! I can see now, I won't regret it. As you can see, I'm not promoted yet, but I've found other activites here. It's great to communicate with other people, view and post nice screenshots, and you can still find tons of quality mods in the public section. Also one of my mod ideas is already being worked on by a nice guy. As you can read: "Come for the Mods, Stay for the Community!"
That's not an empty phrase. GUN is easily the best modding community you can find.

Thank you o wise masters! I am buying my first computer for gaming soon and I'm pretty eager to get the Fallouts and Elder Scrolls modded. I'm probably going to make a post asking for the community input. Thanks again.
