| Hi everyone, Praeter_Victus here! I've been involved in personal modding for Bethesda's games all the way back from Morrowind, to Oblivion, to Fallout 3 and New Vegas, to Skyrim, and now Fallout 4. Unfortunately, I don't know a whole lot yet about the tools necessary for Fallout 4, but I'm here to educate myself and hopefully eventually share my content. Currently, my big project I'm working on is a futuristic architecture tileset. As much as I love the post-apocalyptic feel of the game, I also enjoy sci-fi settings like those of the Halo or Mass Effect franchises, so I wanted to bring something like that as a modder's resource to this game. I realize there's already the Institute tileset, but I'm hoping to add more variety to the game, and hopefully provide a resource for modders to build new lands, cityscapes, and mods involving a world rebuilt. Unfortunately, I don't have the knowledge or tools necessary to create new models, but the game has provided a decent variety of meshes to work with, so most of my mods are probably going to be heavy retextures, but I'm pretty hopeful about how it'll turn out. I also plan on making my own set of sci-fi themed clothing, armor, and weapons, and maybe even vehicles in the long run! I'm big into spaceships and that kind of thing (I thoroughly enjoyed the Mothership Zeta DLC of Fallout 3, and ESPECIALLY the Mothership Zeta Crew mod by Nylonathathep), so I'm hoping eventually I can go so far as creating space ships and stations in this game. But all in its own time. Responsibilities irl keep me kinda busy, so I can't give any kind of timeline on when I'll actually get to sharing all of this stuff, but hopefully it'll happen someday in the not-too-distant future. Anyway, like I said, I'm here hoping to increase my knowledge on modding, and eventually share my work. Outside of that, I'm also a science-fiction writer, and working on a book I hope to publish someday soonish. Glad to be here, and I hope one day to contribute to the community! P.S. In case anyone's curious, "praeter victus" in Latin loosely translates to "beyond the way of life", which kind of fits my personal philosophy on why I enjoy games so much. But it can also be translated to "in addition to food", so take it as you will, lol. |
