Subject: New DLC's worth it? Tue Jul 19, 2016 3:31 am
Hey there folks, been a while since I've posted here. Been busy with school and whatnot. Decided its time to take a break and look at the new DLCs (Contraptions and Vault Tec). I never bought the season pass, so I was wondering what your opinions on these are? Are they worth the price? I didn't buy the previous Workshop DLC, so I'm still on the fence...

Depends on what you want. For me, I don't care at all about this settlement content adding crap. Far Harbor, Automatron (for the questline + enemy patrols) and this Nuka Park one interest me. I wish FO4 DLC was like FNV/FO3/Skyrim with huge expansions, new worlds and locations. I've never gotten into the settlement system and I never will. But if you're into that sort of thing... You generally buy the DLC so you can get mods that expand upon it. Like before the first DLC we didn't have elevators (that weren't load screens). TL;DR: buy DLC to extend mods.

I think the settlement add-ons should have either been in free updates, or part of the game from the beginning. I do look forward to the Vault-tec workshop, as long as they fixed the building aspect of it. (Tried the beta, it was frustrating as heck) And I very much look forward to being an evil raider who is a jerk to everyone I don't shoot in Nuka-world lol. I do hop that Nuka is truly not the last forever, and only the last for this year or something. I got the season-pass and want more for my buck, even more so since I live in AUS and the price for it, even before it went up was pretty much the price of a full standalone game. That's my 2 cents anyway.

Depends really on what you want & if you think it's worth it. IMO, season pass is worth more than individual purchase if you get in on sale. & to help weigh in more about this, must know that there will be no more future DLCs. All that has been released & announced will be it for Fallout 4 DLCs. Here's a video from Gopher expressing his sentiments about it.

I got Fallout 4 and Season pass for 50 $ so ...it was worth it .Thing is that they are gonna fill up Fallout 4 with DLC .So the best thing to do is ...to wait for GOTY or something .

The vault-tec one will probably be worth getting, I know some are saying its not, but some also said automatron would be worthless, and it turns it was actually pretty damn cool. You know, just saying. Anyway as for contraptions, well its really up to you. The useful thing about it is that you can build your own weapons and armor, not very useful if you've already beat the game and are a high level, buuuut if you start a new game in particular on survival mode, it can give you an edge in the form of constructing say a gauss rifle, ammunition for it, and a full set of heavy combat armor. There's even a mod which further enhances the dlc by making it so the resource getting machine (what? I forgot its name...) uses resources from all linked settlements and doesn't have to be by the workshop bench, and also adds new builders that allow for building power armor parts. Think about that, level 15 and already a full suit of T-60, or X-01 you know, which ever so you like best. So, useful right? The real question though, is it worth the $5 it'll cost? Get some real information on it, watch some gameplay vids of it, and decide for yourself whether or not its worth it.

Contraptions is for a creative side of mind like or settlement supportive role but Far harbor was ok and Automtron was good and I am looking forward to the nuka world dlc yeah
