| I hope this is the right forum to ask this question, but how do you combing two meshes in NifSkope? I'm taking a piece from one armor mod and then pasting it onto another armor mod. Before anyone asks, this is for personal use. I won't be posting it. Anyway, everything seems to be working fine in NifSkope, but when I try to load the model up in the GECK it causes the program to crash. Can someone post some instruction on how to do this properly? By the way the armor mod is for New Vegas. Thanks in advance! |

| @TheThompsonBoss @AnsaarTGB Yes ! I can do that for you ! I don't have much time right now, but If you tell me what is your request, I can combine meshes to create a brand new armor for you ! Send me your ideas and I'll make a basic mash-up to see if it pleases you _________________ I've come here to chew bubblegum and mod Fallout ! And I'm all out of bubblegum ! Send me your ideas and I'll make a basic mash-up to see if it pleases you I appreciate the offer my friend, but I would like to do this on my own. I want to learn how to do stuff like this on my own for future mods. But I do appreciate you offering to do it for me. I understand you can't explain everything, but if you have a few pointers maybe you can let me know. Actually perhaps you can help me with a problem I'm having. You see FoVet20 posted a tutorial he did to help me out (It's up above in an earlier response) and so I tried it out and followed it. Good news is it mostly worked! I loaded the model up in GECK and even saw what it was gonna look like in the preview window for the armor. However when I load it up in game the armor is back to it's original form and has no changes. Anyway, I'm close to finishing it. I just need to know how to correct this problem and then I think I'll be good to go! Edit: I'm sorry if my response may seem a bit confusing or perhaps doesn't make sense in some areas. I just got up and I'm still waking up. |

| @FoVet20 Just one, I think. I know this may sound like a simple idea, but basically I took the armor from the armored vault suit and pasted it on to Dragbody's FO4 vault suit port. I tried the same thing later with an Oblivion mod and I got the same problem. It shows up in the GECK/Creation Kit's preview window for the armor. But once in game the changes don't show up. |

| @FoVet20 Not gonna lie, if I have to edit the meshes...then I'm stuck. I had no problem copying a branch and pasting that branch and then working with the nums, but editing the mesh itself might be tricky. It could be I'm just not getting a grasp on it. If you don't find anything wrong then don't worry about it. I appreciate the help all the same. |

| If you did branch copy and paste you likely have invalid node references somewhere still. I found it most commonly to be the "wet texture" reference in the BSLightingShaderProperty. Either change it to a blank entry or use the default "template/ArmorTemplate_Wet.bgsm" or "template/SkinTemplate_Wet.bgsm" whichever is appropriate. Also make sure you're only referencing each node once. - Code:
-
For example: 69 Mesh 70 Skin 71 Shader 72 Texture
Don't do something like: 69 Mesh 70 Skin 71 Shader 72 Texture 73 Mesh 74 Skin 71 Shader 72 Texture
That will cause crashing too. Also make sure your root node is named properly. It should be "BASE meshes\path\to\file.nif" and make sure it's where you're putting it. See vanilla files for a reference. CK doesn't like it if they aren't set properly. GO nif's and weapons do not have the same root naming scheme. They each have their own style you'll have to check if you try to do them at a later point. |

CMIW, you're try to merge mesh for FALLOUT 4, right? I am a noob with nifskope, i was try and successfully merge/mashup several mesh into 1 armor back in skyrim (original/LE) with only using Nifskope. lately i play FALLOUT 4 and try to merge just a clothes with a boots from 2 different MODs and i was struggle for 2 weeks but made it in the end! None of the tutorials out there help me completely. With Skyrim as far as i can remember year ago its pretty easy. But not with FO4. I use the latest Nifskope v. 2.0.6 alpha, but i use 2 mesh from MODs in FALLOUT 4. If your actual plan was to merge a mesh from FO-NV and FO4, there a tutorial in youtube, even though the tutorial is about a gun, but i am sure the methods are pretty much th same. i was watch that tutorial, and it says that you have to import a mesh from FO-New Vegas to Fallout 4 first. If i remember it correctly you have to strip the bone in Nifskope and then import the mesh to BLENDER, and then import it back into Nif for FO4. After that you can open with Nifskope the vanilla or your main Nif as the base in Nifskope and merge it with the nifs from BLENDER. After you Copy-paste the Branch don't forget to (in 0-Ninode) right click-Transform-Apply. have you do that? If you struggle with Nifskope the best way to merge armor is using Outfit Studio. EDIT: Added tag spoilers to your image. Also please take care not to post some nude stuff here. That screenshot is in the limit. Cheers Cruz011 - Happy Modding |
