| On my last character I beat the game on the old survival and it was quite frustrating, but alot easier than how it is now. So far on the new survival I kind of don't feel like I am having anymore and it just feels like a chore to play the game. I do find most of the newly implemented mechanics quite aluring. How do you guys feel about survival? Is it really worth it in the end and do you sincerely have fun with it? If I change my difficulty on my character I will never be able to go back on Survival with that character _________________ |

| To be honest, yes. I find the "new" survival difficulty fun BUT after I made some adjustment:
-I downloaded a mod called "Save at consoles" that had blank holotape on which you can save from anywhere, this help me when I'm too tired to walk back to a bed or simply when the game just crashed on a loading, when I get back I can save in case it crash again.
-To "skip" most travel I use the "Neutral Vertibirds" that let you craft a vertibirds and use it like the one that you have with the brotherhood without having to side with the brotherhood. It had a simple way to travel without having to do it yourself.
-And to end this, I downloaded a mod that change the hit multiplier from x1.5 player on npc and x2npc on player to x1 on both case, meaning I deal the same damage to my ennemies that they do to me.
I like the new survival because it give a use to the food and water (I don't use them normally there is too much stimpack in the commonwealth). There's problem like sleeping in a sleeping bag don't decrease your fatigue or the insomnia illness (maybe I didn't understand it). The fallout 4 survival is in my opinion better than the one in new vegas, in my opinion it's more consistent. _________________ "It's not about changing the world. | It's a neat concept, but requires mod support to be actually usable... like anything Bethesda has made... |

I understand with mods survival is quite better, but it is quite frustrating to play when everything ends up owning you. Although it some ways it is realistic, but I do find it to take away the whole reason of playing a game. The fun. I think the food and water mechanic is what drove me to playing it on survival though. - Kira Yoshikage wrote:

Do you play on survival? How do you enjoy it so far? _________________ |

| For me if there could be an overhaul of it that just makes it more like new Vegas hardcore mode it would be better. I dont like how you cant save and how you get killed to easily from one shot. I do like how your AP goes down from lack of sleep but it needs to be fixed to take longer, I literally woke up and walked out the house and already had AP being taken from me. I also like the whole ammo weight thing that way your limited from carrying around thousands of ammo. And for not being able to switch back and forth from Survival is just stupid, but there is a mod for that. I think Bethesda was trying to give it a shot to implement a few things but in my opinion they just made it un-playable due to to many limitations(no console, no saves...etc...) _________________ Check out my youtube channel and support me with a sub ----> https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCMgUwyvq7nUEL1Bu7oMwItQ - My Achievements:

| @liljonesy04 I was thinking about switching back to very hard. Where did you find this mod? _________________ |

| I've played it for an hour or two. But I wasn't really fond of it. Not going to bash it or anything but it wasn't my cup of tea. It's a challenging concept, but I sometimes don't want to rage over a game that I love playing. |

| @OhSoulless I understand completely what you mean. I am playing Far Harbor now and boy I'm glad I'm not playing on survival anymore. I would of had to reload so many times. _________________ |

| @Crash244 I haven't gotten Far Harbor yet. But I bet it's challenging, even without playing it on Survival mode. |

| @OhSoulless Far Harbor is way more challenging in Survival because there's a LOT of rad everywhere on the island and at a place where you are obliged to go, the second thing is that there's not a lot of places to have purified water and those places are on one side of the island if you go explore you will need to stack up on the water. Except that the rest is like Fallout 4 original. @Kira Yoshikage I don't understand your comment, did you play Fallout 4 vanilla ? For me F4 vanilla was the most stable game, I did not had any problem during my 3 days long save. _________________ "It's not about changing the world. | It's killing my immersion and that tiny amount of roleplay that I have, so I decided to not bother with it. |

| I've been playing survival since they first released on Beta, and I love it. Yeah, they're moments when it gets to be a little much, with having to walk everywhere, and combat, especially with the enemies having perfect grenade/Molotov throws, but I love the challenge that it brings. I've been playing on very hard/ original survival mode since the game released, because I felt that it wasn't much of a challenge. _________________ "they asked me how well I understood theoretical physics. | It always seemed ridiculous to me that it took them this long to release survival mode just to give us an obnoxious version of FNV's survival mode. Sure the diseases were a cool idea but dealing with them wasn't very intuitive. Then they decided to kill it by taking away the ability to save and use console commands. (I use it to turn off character lighting and god rays, don't like using mods for that ) Felt like I was playing an old PS1 game; you die, you start from where you last saved. Didn't mind not being able to fast travel but it began to grate on me because FO4 has a pretty boring atmosphere. All in all, modders are FO4's life support. Shame really, I really wanted to enjoy this game. Side note: Far Harbor was a pretty darn good DLC. I actually felt invested in it. _________________ "A drop in the Basket, Is Worth a Shepherd's Shilling" ~ Danka Chevchnov
