As someone who has just acquired Fallout 4 after the hype died out and the screams of let-downs poured in, informing lowered expectations, I'll say this... I just didn't care.
About any of it.
The game had no soul. The writing didn't pull me in. The acting FELT scripted. There was never a feeling that anything was at stake. There was never a feeling that my actions couldn't just be rectified by reloading.
Sure the last point is true of games like New Vegas too, but New Vegas somehow made you forget about that. It made you actually want to TRY. There is something soul-less about this game. Something that makes you feel like it's about checking things off a to-do list rather than enjoying or immersing yourself in its world.
I have yet to finish it but I have to say, if it doesn't dramatically improve, I'll be sticking with this statement until loads of mods come in to rectify it.
